Actress Ji So-yeon and husband Song Jae-hee, whose condition had not been reported since the twins were full-term, personally announced the birth.
On the 14th Ji So-yeon posted on her personal social media, "My son Doha's birthday is Sept. 15. He was born weighing 3.2kg. My daughter Reha was born 1 minute later than her brother, weighing 2.4kg," sharing an update one month after giving birth.
Ji So-yeon recalled, "I am sharing this news with those who contacted me worried because there was no news even after the due date," adding, "Because I was an older mother and carrying twins, we had scheduled a cesarean section for full term, but early labor began so I was very anxious, worried and in pain."
She continued, "But after many prayers our family finally met. We are opening a new chapter, going from three to five. I will also share baby news," and released a preview for the SBS variety show Dong-Sang-Ee-Mong 2: You Are My Destiny scheduled to air on the 20th.
On the 13th, the day before Ji So-yeon personally shared an update, a preview for next week was shown at the end of the Dong-Sang-Ee-Mong 2 broadcast.
Footage of Ji So-yeon and Song Jae-hee on the day the twins were born was released, showing Ji So-yeon sighing before entering the operating room and telling her husband Song Jae-hee, "What if? What if that happens? What if the babies can't breathe on their own?" expressing her worries.
In particular, Ji So-yeon suffered contractions and severe pain even before the scheduled cesarean time, and the surgery was moved up. Song Jae-hee appeared anxious in front of the operating room, and 20 minutes into the operation medical staff emerged and explained to Song Jae-hee that the surgery was taking longer due to anesthesia issues.
Medical staff reassured them, "The anesthesia worked well on the right side but less on one side. We will add one more dose so it will take longer," but Song Jae-hee was in tears.
Meanwhile, Ji So-yeon married Song Jae-hee in 2017 and gave birth to their first daughter Ha-el last year. She later became pregnant with twins through in vitro fertilization.
