The global expansion of the 'Physical:100' series, 'Physical: Asia,' unveiled its veil with a main poster and a trailer.
On the 14th, the Netflix original variety show Physical: Asia released the main poster and trailer, raising the banner of an intense physical war. Through this, Physical: Asia created anticipation for a boundary-breaking national team physical war in which eight Asian countries compete under their flags.
The first released main poster heightens anticipation by previewing the performances of athletes representing a variety of physical types and disciplines from eight Asian countries. The shining aura of Filipino Manny Pacquiao, the boxing legend who conquered eight weight classes, and the powerful gesture of Australia's former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker emit intense energy with the line "no mercy, no surrender, until death."
The joy of 'Stun Gun' Kim Dong-hyun, the first Korean UFC fighter; the confidence of Mongolian traditional wrestling athlete Erkhengbayar Bayarsaikhan, who inherited the blood of Genghis Khan warriors; and the charisma of former volleyball player-turned-actor James Rusamika, known as Thailand's King Kong, capture the eye. Added to this are the monstrous physical strength of Turkish wrestling world champion Yasemin Adar Eit, who easily lifts enormous weights, Japan's former national wrestling team member Ozaki Nonoka, and Indonesia's jiu-jitsu athlete Pina Philip, whose performances are also anticipated. Above all, a gigantic castle and shipwreck that suggest a massive quest featuring Korean and Asian culture steal the spotlight.
The released main trailer captures the shining fighting spirit of athletes from eight Asian countries competing in a physical war under their flags: Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia and the Philippines. Athletes drag or lift something with great effort or hold themselves on an aerial hoop with their feet. There is only one reason they pour all their strength into surpassing human limits. "We represent our homeland, and we will go to all-out war with other countries," "There is no country we want to avoid. We can fight every country," "Whoever survives, we will crush them," the athletes' intense resolve makes it impossible to look away for a moment.
As a national team competition, you cannot miss the fun of seeing diverse tactics, strategies and teamwork that reflect each country's culture and colors. "One more step and you win! One more stride and you win," "Who is more desperate? Who is more desperate! We are," "Fight for each other. A people born to fight and to win," they say, and because they fight fiercely to survive by any means, thrilling matches are expected to pour forth. This is why the honorable physical war fought under the flags is even more anticipated.
As the first national team competition in the 'Physical' series, Physical: Asia brings together legendary athletes from a variety of disciplines on a scale reminiscent of an international tournament. Traditional sports athletes representing their countries — Korean ssireum, Mongolian wrestling, Thai muay thai, Türkiye oil wrestling — will also engage in real-deal matches.
Regarding this, director Jang Ho-gi said, "Because we composed it with a variety of disciplines and physical types, we developed diverse quests so that all participants can demonstrate much more varied performances," and added, "At the same time, we prepared twists that could break participants' expectations, who likely studied last season's quests diligently. We kept what needed to be kept from last season while trying to present as many new and varied games as possible, so we prepared a lot," raising expectations. Director Jang Ho-gi also said, "This season is team-based competition, but there are also matches that allow attention to each individual, so please look forward to it." It will be released on the 28th.
