Actor Jeong Seong-il (45), who appeared in the Netflix drama The Glory, divorced after nine years of marriage.
Jeong Seong-il's agency said in a statement on the 14th, "Jeong Seong-il, after long and careful consideration together with his spouse, has decided to conclude his marriage."
The agency added, "As this decision was reached through an amicable agreement between the two and not due to fault, we ask that distorted or speculative reports be refrained from."
The agency also said, "Although the (Jeong Seong-il couple's) legal relationship has been settled, they support each other on their separate paths, and they are faithfully doing their utmost together regarding the child's upbringing."
Earlier, Jeong Seong-il married in 2016 and had one son. In the past, he said on a broadcast that after dating his wife and breaking up, they met by chance and married three months later.
Jeong Seong-il debuted with the film H in 2002. Afterward, he mainly worked on theater and musical stages before expanding his stride into drama and film with works such as The Policeman's Lineage, The Uncanny Counter, and Stranger 2. In 2022, he gained popularity for playing Ha Do-young, the husband of school violence perpetrator Park Yeon-jin (Lim Ji-yeon), in The Glory.
