A fateful meeting between Crown Prince Kang Tae-oh and the concubine's attendant Kim Se-jeong is set to take place.
The MBC new Friday-Saturday drama Moon River, which will premiere on Oct. 31 (written by Jo Seung-hee, directed by Lee Dong-hyun, planned by Kwon Seong-chang), is a period drama fantasy romance about a soul swap empathy story in which a crown prince who has lost his smile and a concubine's attendant who has lost her memory switch places.
In the drama, Lee Gang (played by Kang Tae-oh) is a so-called "rouge" crown prince who is sharp-tongued, self-willed and leads a dissipated life. After losing his beloved concubine in palace intrigue, he has since lost his smile and is constantly absorbed only in luxury and maintaining his looks.
Then one day, a concubine's attendant Park Dal-i (played by Kim Se-jeong), who has a face identical to the concubine, appears before him. But Park Dal-i is plucky and full of vitality, with exceptional business savvy and a hearty Chungcheong dialect, giving her traits that are very different from the concubine.
With such stark differences in status and personality, curiosity grows about how the two will nurture a tender romance, and the released photos capture the dynamic changes in the relationship between Lee Gang and Park Dal-i, showing everything from their first meeting to the exchange of tender vibes at a glance.
First, Lee Gang discovering Park Dal-i in the marketplace draws attention. The contrasting expressions—Park Dal-i smiling brightly and Lee Gang frozen in shock upon seeing her—leave a strong impression. But that encounter is brief, as Lee Gang is shown holding Park Dal-i close with his eyes closed, arousing curiosity.
Meanwhile, amid falling snowflakes, a subtle current flows between Lee Gang and Park Dal-i when they face each other. Their looks toward one another seem to hold a quiet affection, sparking interest in how rapidly their relationship will change. With their souls even swapped, the two unexpectedly become bound as a shared fate, focusing attention on what lies ahead for them.
