Singer Yun Min-su and his ex-wife Kim Min-ji appeared together on a broadcast to explain the reasons for their divorce and the allegations of a staged divorce.
On Nov. 12, the SBS program "My Little Old Boy" featured Yun Min-su and his ex-wife Kim Min-ji together. That day, Yun Min-su was shown sorting shared furniture two weeks before moving.
That day, the two sorted shared furniture ahead of the move and divided their belongings. Yun Min-su said, "When I signed the divorce papers I didn't feel it, but as we divided our things I really felt the separation."
By contrast, Kim Min-ji mentioned changes after the divorce, confessing frankly, "There aren't many good things about being alone, but I like that I don't have to wait. Waiting for someone was very hard for me. Now that's the freest thing."
Kim Min-ji went on to say the bombshell comment, "When we married I thought Yun Min-su would become like Sean," which drew laughter. When Yun Min-su reacted in surprise, asking, "You thought I'd become like Sean hyung?", Kim Min-ji smiled and recalled, "When we were dating you were really affectionate. On April Fools' Day we fought and I said 'let's stop,' and I remember you picked up a bag and followed me out."
They also directly addressed the recent "staged divorce" allegations. After Yun Min-su and Kim Min-ji posted photos of a trip to Japan with their son Yun-ho after the divorce, some internet users speculated, "Isn't this a staged divorce?"
In response, Kim Min-ji said firmly, "This is not a staged divorce. We just naturally posted images of our family. The marital relationship is over, but as our son's parents we maintain a good relationship."
Meanwhile, Yun Min-su and Kim Min-ji married in 2006 and have a son, Yun-ho. They announced their divorce last year, but they have continued to co-parent Yun-ho and maintain family bonds.
