"Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey" singer Song Ga-in responded to rumors surrounding her.
On the 12th broadcast of TV Chosun's "Sikgaek Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey" (hereinafter "Baekban Journey"), Song Ga-in went on a food trip to Jindo County, South Jeolla Province, with Heo Young-man.
When asked why she appeared that day, Song Ga-in said, "My new song is out this time, so I thought it might be nice to let the teacher know my new song, so I came out. Teacher Seol Woon-do wrote the song for me," she said.
She then asked Heo Young-man, "I was wondering if the teacher would dance with me," and Heo Young-man and the production team did a dance challenge with Song Ga-in, drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, Song Ga-in said, "I currently live in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul. It's not my house. I'm living on a jeonse contract." When Heo Young-man jokingly asked, "You must have earned enough to buy several houses by now," she opened up, saying, "People think that, but fake news appears on YouTube."
Song Ga-in said, "People say I've already bought a building. But I didn't earn that much," and added, "They even say I married someone, had two kids, all sorts of nonsense. Don't look at (fake news). I'm not married. Don't be fooled. Don't believe it," she urged.
Song Ga-in also shared stories from her unknown days. Although she majored in gugak, she entered the trot path after winning the top prize on National Singing Contest, Song Ga-in said. Heo Young-man asked, "Did your life change drastically after that?"
Song Ga-in replied, "No. After that I had a hard time for about seven to eight years. My unknown period went like that. Looking at others, many people have been unknown for 10 to 20 years," and added, "In the beginning of my debut, I only had three to four schedules a month."
She recalled, "It's been about seven to eight years since I started trot, and this field is just as tough. It's usually not easy. I couldn't even afford stage outfits, so I really bought cheap clothes online and went around."
Song Ga-in confessed, "When I traveled alone I rode buses and trains, and since there was no waiting room I changed clothes in the restroom and suffered alone, so it was so hard that I often thought, 'Should I quit?'" which drew attention.
Meanwhile, Song Ga-in performed a voracious mukbang of seasonal blue crab dishes. Heo Young-man asked, "Do you care about gaining weight or anything like that?" and Song Ga-in joked, "I'm not an actor or an idol, so when I eat I just eat happily."
