The group NMIXX is expanding its presence as a "hexagonal girl group" today (13th) with their first full-length album.
NMIXX releases their first full-length album Blue Valentine and its title track of the same name on the 13th. They return about seven months after their previous release, the fourth mini album Fe3O4: FORWARD in March, and will heat up K-pop fans' hearts with further upgraded skills and charm.
The new release concludes the Fe3O4 series, which dealt with stories of remaining in the real world called "FIELD," and opens a new chapter. It deals with emotions that occur on the "Blue Valentine Stage" during a voyage toward MIXXTOPIA. Through various content such as a prologue film, concept photos and a webtoon, it visualizes the unavoidable conflicts with loved ones and the ambivalence of love, raising immersion.
The title track "Blue Valentine" sings of the point where each other's emotions collide and the wish to ignite a fire in cold hearts. It features melancholic synth sounds and guitar riffs, and intersecting boom-bap rhythms of different tempos add dimensionality. The new song's music video also contains dreamy visuals and dramatic scenes to increase listening enjoyment.
The full-length album includes 12 tracks in total, led by the title track "Blue Valentine": "SPINNIN' ON IT", "Phoenix", "Reality Hurts", "RICO", "Game Face", "PODIUM", "Crush On You", "ADOR E U", "Shape of Love", "O.O Part 1 (Baila)", and "O.O Part 2 (Superhero)".
In particular, tracks 11 and 12 are recordings that separately present the genre-specific parts of NMIXX's debut song "O.O," which originated the "MIXX POP" genre that fuses two or more genres in one song, allowing listeners to feel multiple charms at once. They are expected to be a special gift that fulfils the wishes of fans who have long awaited an official release. Also, Haewon participated in writing the lyrics for "PODIUM" and "Crush On You," and Lily participated in writing "Reality Hurts," expressing their sensibilities and showcasing the musicality of the "hexagonal girl group."
LILY, Haewon, Seolyun, BAE, Jiwoo and Gyujin will hold a countdown live at 4:40 p.m. today ahead of their 6 p.m. comeback to celebrate the release of their first full-length album Blue Valentine with fans. Riding the momentum, they will hold their first solo concert under the group's name on Nov. 29 and 30 and demonstrate their six-sided skills.
