Actor Jeon So-min returned to Running Man after about two years.
A preview video shown at the end of the Nov. 12 broadcast of SBS's Sunday Is Good–Running Man (hereafter Running Man) revealed Jeon So-min appearing as a guest. Jeon So-min is set to fill the spot left by member Ji Ye-eun, who suspended activities for health reasons.
Because Jeon So-min was a Running Man member for about 6 years and 7 months, she blended into the show naturally like a member rather than a guest and completed the games.
She also said, "I came here to make money today," and when asked, "Have you kissed someone within the past week?" she playfully told Yang Se-chan to come forward, drawing laughs with her quick wit.
Earlier, Jeon So-min left Running Man in Nov. 2023 after about 6 years and 7 months together. With a cute appearance contrasted by quirky and lively charm, she earned many nicknames such as DolSomin and JeonSobar and was much loved; she decided to leave to focus on her main work, acting.
Before leaving, she had periods of hiatus due to malicious comments from some overseas fans and health issues, but after returning she continued her activities and showcased close friendships with the members. The production team also set the viewer comment board to private to draw a line against indiscriminate criticism directed at Jeon So-min.
After that, rumors of her return surfaced when she was mentioned on Running Man in Sept. During that broadcast, the production team revealed the first game as "Song-following 3-minute cooking" and said, "This is a game that former member Jeon So-min reported," attracting attention.
When Jeon So-min's name was mentioned, Kim Jong-kook reacted, "Do you keep in touch with Somin?" in surprise, and the production team explained, "She keeps sending games to us occasionally." Ji Seok-jin said, "Does Somin send them? Tell her to come on once," expressing delight, and Yoo Jae-seok also drew laughs, saying, "She should come herself." Choi Daniel jokingly raised a suggestive question, "Does Somin get paid?" turning the set into a sea of laughter.
The "Song-following 3-minute cooking" that Jeon So-min submitted is an individual game in which one person in charge of cooking sings the recipe to a tune while the other members listen and cook. It's a meme game that has recently been trending on shorts and other platforms; the members were surprised by her idea and welcomed it while recalling the familiar "Somin energy."
