Kim Woo-bin made his acting debut by showing his first acting through the drama special-White Christmas. However, he began his career as a popular model.
Regarding this, Kim Woo-bin laughed and said, "I took the basic acting classes at university, but it wasn't something I could choose. When I was with the modeling agency, all the models took acting classes, but I said, 'I don't do actor stuff,'" and added, "I said I would become a model and a professor. If you have a goal, you have to shoot for it."
The reason he started acting was advertising. Kim Woo-bin said, "As I kept doing modeling work, models also shot commercials, and during interviews they had me act. Could I handle the storyboard? At that time I felt like an idiot. I had been practicing poses and walking every day. To become a good model, I realized I needed to be able to act."
He continued, "At that time I met my first acting teacher, Moon Won-ju, and acting was so fun," his eyes brightened, and he recalled, "Being scolded was fun too," remembering the moment he switched to acting with added emotion.
Kim Woo-bin debuted as a model in 2008 by appearing in the Kim Se-ryong Homme show. Three years later, in 2011, he began acting through White Christmas, and he has continued acting for 14 years. He recently played the title role Genie in the Netflix series "Genie, Make A Wish."
