The late Jeong Se-hyeop's final stage during his life will be revealed on Gag Concert.
On the 12th broadcast, KBS2's public comedy program Gag Concert will introduce a new segment, "BJ Label," for the first time. This broadcast will show the last appearance of comedian Jeong Se-hyeop, who passed away on the 6th.
"BJ Label" is a new segment in which BJs who do internet broadcasting respond to every situation as if they are broadcasting. Lee Jung-soo, Jeong Se-hyeop, Kim Yeo-woon, Seo Yu-gi, Yoo Yeon-jo, Hwang Hye-sun and others will appear to deliver unique laughs.
In the first broadcast, Lee Jung-soo, Seo Yu-gi and Yoo Yeon-jo of "BJ Label" will launch a mission to help their hospitalized friend Kim Yeo-woon. They will carry out a clever attempt to cover Kim Yeo-woon's hospital and surgery bills through internet broadcast reactions. Jeong Se-hyeop is scheduled to decorate the highlight of this segment.
Jeong Se-hyeop passed away on the night of the 6th. He was 41. According to the Korea Association of Broadcasting Comedians, the cause of death is reported to be cardiac arrest. Immediately after the news became known, Gag Concert's official account uploaded a message saying, "We offer our deep condolences on the tragic news of Jeong Se-hyeop. We respectfully pray for the deceased's happiness in the afterlife."
Jeong Se-hyeop debuted in 2008 as a 10th generation SBS comedian and was active on shows such as Finding Laughter and Gag Tonight, and later news of his battle with leukemia caused sorrow. However, after receiving a bone marrow transplant and being declared cured, he returned to Gag Concert and was actively involved.
After joining Gag Concert in Apr. 2024, Jeong Se-hyeop appeared in Last Commute, Lee Jung-soo C Jeong Se-hyeop C, Such a Kind Romance, Sunflower Food Stall, Hell's Commute and others, showing an uncompromising comedic passion. In particular, in the segment "The Clash of the Century," which aired on the 14th of last month, he drew attention by presenting his signature character "Chow Chow" for the first time in 13 years.
Tributes from fellow comedians continued after the sudden sad news. Kim Won-hyo wrote, "Live freely in a place where you can laugh and make people laugh as much as you want. We respectfully pray for the deceased's happiness in the afterlife," and Hong Hyun-hee posted a photo taken with him saying, "The news is unbelievable and my heart hurts so much. Rest peacefully where there is no pain," which moved many.
Park Sung-kwang expressed his affection, saying, "Our Se-hyeop, be only happy there." Hwang Young-jin also mourned the deceased, saying, "He was the junior I liked the most. He acted well and was truly a kind friend. He is the person among my juniors who made me laugh the most. I hope many people remember Se-hyeop."
Meanwhile, Jeong Se-hyeop's funeral rite was held on the 9th at Ham-baek Mountain Funeral Hall in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, and his burial site is Ham-baek Mountain Memorial Park.
