Group S.E.S. member Sho said she returned to activity as a broadcaster (BJ) and received a signing fee.
On the 10th, the YouTube channel That's Sho uploaded a video titled "[Reedited] That controversial incident… I will tell everything today (first release)."
The video released that day was a reedited version of a video of Sho and Lim Hyo-seong uploaded last August, and Sho said, "Today I'm re-releasing episode 0, which I had posted once before but took down because some parts were not careful, after polishing it a bit more carefully."
Sho added, "Many people have been curious about my story. This video is a cautious retelling of that initial feeling I had when I first opened up about it."
Earlier, Sho was accused of habitual gambling totaling 790 million won in Korea, Macau and other places from Aug. 2016 to Jun. 2018, and in 2019 she was sentenced to six months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence and 80 hours of community service, after which she kept a low profile.
Meanwhile, in 2022 news broke that Sho would return as a broadcaster (BJ), sparking debate among the public, and from her first day back she drew criticism from netizens for wearing an outfit that exposed her chest.
On that, Sho said, "At the time I had to pay (the deposit) money, and a BJ offer came in just then. It became an issue," adding, "I didn't expect the broadcast to turn out that way. I wanted my channel to be a place to simply communicate with fans. I was going to do things I couldn't do with fans before, but on the very first broadcast I really chose the wrong outfit."
Regarding the revealing outfit, Sho said, "How much do you think I agonized over the first broadcast outfit? Cutouts were very trendy then. But when I stood in front of the camera with that lighting, it was shown in the wrong way. I regretted it a lot. I wasn't receiving balloon gifts or anything. That's not what I wanted."
Sho also confessed, "The articles came out really badly, but I had agreed to receive a signing fee, and there were things I needed to solve with that money. I knew that having a signing fee could certainly have downsides, but I had no choice. I thought I could take that signing fee, put out the immediate fires and then make my own broadcasts. It's ridiculous to make excuses, though."
Meanwhile, at the time Sho's live broadcast was watched by S.E.S. members Bada and Eugene. Sho told fans, "Bada unni and Eugene are watching my broadcast right now. Bada unni and Eugene are together in this chatroom."
However, controversy arose over Sho wearing a revealing outfit and dancing, and it was reported that Bada criticized Sho over the outfit, which reportedly caused a rift between the two, attracting attention.
