'Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey' singer Song Ga-in recalled her difficult unknown years.
On the 12th broadcast, TV Chosun's 'Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey' (hereafter 'Baekban Journey') showed Song Ga-in heading to Jindo County, South Jeolla Province, with Heo Young-man.
That day Heo Young-man asked, "You said you learned chang, so why did you switch to trot?" Song Ga-in said, "At that time, the 'National Singing Contest' happened to come to Jindo. I entered and won first place. After that I went that way."
Heo Young-man then asked, "Did your life change dramatically after that?" Song Ga-in admitted, "No. After that I struggled for seven to eight years. I had that unknown period. When I see other people, many have had unknown careers for 10 to 20 years, so..."
In the early days after her debut, when she had only three to four schedules a month, Song Ga-in recalled, "I think it's been about seven to eight years since I started trot, but this field is equally hard. It's usually not easy. I even didn't have money to buy costumes, so I bought cheap clothes online and wore them."
She continued, "When I traveled alone I took buses and trains, and because there was no waiting room I changed clothes in the restroom and went through it by myself, so it was so hard that I often thought, 'Should I stop?'"
