In Netflix's "Do Driver," the wild histories of Hong Jin Kyung, Ju Woo Jae and Jang Woo Young explode.
Netflix variety show "Do Driver: In search of the lost steering wheel" is a program that captures the joys and sorrows of life assembled without screws by the top 99% of talents and is released every Sunday at 5 p.m. The somewhat silly character variety show they present, along with the strong and colorful chemistry of the younger-sibling line made up of Jinkyung and Sook, two older sisters and Seho, Woo Jae and Woo Young, is a weekly feast of laughter. In particular, it offers games, makeovers, punishments, travel, eating broadcasts, talk and at times even emotion, building a solid fan base.
The 18th episode, released today, the 12th (Sun), is the second installment of "Exile survival of a major offender," in which Jinkyung, Sook, Seho, Woo Jae and Woo Young transform into an all-time five-member villain team and compete in a last-person-standing duel.
Among them, the members' mind games in the "moving a cup of water on toilet paper" game become fiercer than ever. Before the game, Woo Jae said, "This game requires thinking about physical laws," then began his characteristic show-off, saying, "This is a fight with acceleration. If you create a situation with zero acceleration, that water won't move." Hong Jin Kyung retorted, "Shut up and just do it." Questions arise about whether Woo Jae, after considering the physical laws, can succeed in the "moving a cup of water on toilet paper" challenge. Meanwhile, before Seho attempts to move the glass, he asks for the toilet paper to be changed because water is on it. It's only natural that wet toilet paper tears easily.
Still, Woo Young says, "No, just do it," then offers the absurd remedy, "I'll erase it. This water can be erased with Photoshop," which triggers Cho Sae-ho's automatic anger. Watching the game, Jinkyung shouts, "Woo Jae cheated!" then, like a diligent student, accuses him of cheating, saying, "Teacher! You should roll the toilet paper, but he pulled it." But no sooner has Jinkyung finished speaking than Woo Jae points out, "It's not 'durumagi' but 'durumari,'" and Woo Young says, "Noona, that's cheating. Did you do 'durumagi'?" creating a chaotic state where not a single sane person appears.
Who among the "Do Driver" members is sane remains to be seen; as the competition of eccentricity intensifies, viewers are eager to see in the broadcast whether the "Do Driver" members can move the cup of water on the toilet paper.
