"Marie and Her Three Daddies"'s story will be further enriched by eight golden supporting actors who are ready to meet viewers.
The new KBS1 daily drama "Marie and Her Three Daddies," set to premiere on the 13th (written by Kim Hong-ju, directed by Seo Yong-soo, produced by LI Entertainment and Monster Union), is a drama that depicts Mari's chaotic search for her father! It portrays the birth of an unusual family whose ties are stronger than blood and more persistent than sperm.
The new-concept family story directly tied to the "parentage scandal" involving Ha Seung-ri (as Kang Mari), Hyun-woo (as Lee Kang-se), Park Eun-hye (as Joo Si-ra), Ryu Jin (as Lee Pung-ju), Hwang Dong-joo (as Kang Min-bo), and Gong Jung-hwan (as Jin Ki-sik) is expected to heighten interest in the relationships among the characters ahead of the premiere. In particular, distinctive supporting actors such as Jeong Ae-ri (as Eom Gi-boon), Geum Bo-ra (as Yoon Soon-ae), Kang Shin-il (as Lee Ok-soon), Park Hyun-jung (as Moon Sook-hee), Jo Hyang-gi (as Yoon Eon-gyeong), Yoon Mi-hyang (as Secretary Kim), Kim Young-jae (as Pyo Do-gi), and Lee Ji-yeon (as Ahn Soo-seon) will join the cast, further solidifying the narrative.
First, Jeong Ae-ri, who plays Mari's relative and grandmother and director of Eom Hospital, Eom Gi-boon, is a character who knows the secret of the "parentage scandal" and drives the tension throughout the drama. More than 20 years ago, at the request of her niece Si-ra, who desperately wanted a child, she committed an illegal act and has lived her life in fear because of it. Geum Bo-ra plays that niece's former sister-in-law and Mari's maternal grandmother, Soon-ae. Once a daughter of a wealthy family, she became obsessed with money after her family fell on hard times. One day, because of the troublemaker Si-ra, who urgently needed money, she puts the back room of her house up for rent.
Meanwhile, the role of Ok-soon, who by chance moves into Mari's house as a tenant, is played by Kang Shin-il. He is Pung-ju and Kang-se's father, and after declaring he would run away because his eldest son showed no interest in marriage, he somehow becomes entangled in a late-life love triangle with Gi-boon and Soon-ae. After learning that he bears some responsibility in the unprecedented scandal surrounding Mari and Kang-se, he moves to untangle the knotted relationships. Attention is on how Gi-boon, Soon-ae, and Ok-soon will act amid the complicated fate that binds them.
Park Hyun-jung and Jo Hyang-gi portray Moon Sook-hee and Yoon Eon-gyeong, depicting emotional lines wavering between friendship and conflict with Si-ra. Sook-hee, who has long had feelings for Pung-ju, is wary when she learns that her high school classmate Si-ra is targeting him. Eon-gyeong, a close cousin and friend of Si-ra, finds Mari and Si-ra's happiness intolerable and tries to boss them around with money. However, when a problem arises with her own son Sol, the balance of relationships shifts, and this leads to the truth of the "parentage scandal" surfacing.
Yoon Mi-hyang, who plays Secretary Kim, is the loyal secretary to Eom Hospital director Gi-boon. With a gentle tone, sensible work handling, and sometimes necessary advice, she presents the image of a professional secretary. But when a single mistake she made in the past, without even realizing it, is revealed, she is swept into a whirlpool of trouble.
The performances of young actors also draw attention. Kim Young-jae, who plays Pyo Do-gi, and Lee Ji-yeon, who plays Ahn Soo-seon, bring life to the story as Mari's colleague and friend, respectively. Do-gi, who values "justice," learns that many people at Eom Hospital are connected to Mari and torments her, but nurse Soo-seon, Mari's guardian angel, always puts Do-gi in his place, creating a tense enemy chemistry. It is intriguing to see how the relationship between the two, which oscillates between romance and conflict, will affect the drama.
The strong ensemble of supporting actors and their vivid character portrayals are anticipated in KBS1's "Marie and Her Three Daddies," which premieres on the 13th at 8:30 p.m.
