Designer Kim Choong-jae, who became widely known through I Live Alone, reappeared once again as Kian84's healer.
On the Oct. 10 broadcast of MBC's entertainment program I Live Alone, viewers were left with a deep impression as Kim Choong-jae was shown gently comforting Kian84, who had fallen into a creative slump.
In that episode, Kian84 confessed, "Lately I don't enjoy painting. I'm under a lot of stress," revealing his anguish as an artist. He then visited the studio of long-time friend and junior Kim Choong-jae to seek comfort.
When Kian84 opened up, "I think I'm troubled because I'm very ambitious," Kim Choong-jae offered a short but resonant remark. "That's a good thing, hyung. It means there are many things you can do. That's impressive." His words went beyond simple consolation; they were heartfelt encouragement from a colleague who understands an artist's worries better than anyone. Kian84 also smiled, saying, "Your gaze is clear. When I meet Choong-jae my mind relaxes."
Kim Choong-jae has long attracted attention for his quiet but steady demeanor as a designer and artist. From his early appearances on I Live Alone, his earnest attitude and kind energy have been widely loved.
In particular, his conversation with Kian84 showed his side as a "healing-type mentor" who can ease a heavy mood with a single phrase. Viewers who watched the broadcast reacted, "Choong-jae seems to be Kian84's only tranquilizer," "It's a short line but so warm," and "You could feel the empathy between artists."
Meanwhile, Kim Choong-jae attracted attention last March when he acknowledged a public relationship with actress Jung Eun-chae. At the time he said, "We're quietly seeing each other," showing he was protecting his private life while maintaining an honest relationship. Since then he has continued to expand his creative realm through social media and exhibitions, preserving his identity as a designer.
