Above all, Lee Chan-won surprised viewers by revealing that even during his busy college life he earned living expenses by doing 20 part-time jobs without asking his parents for help. He said, "Lee Chan-won in his 20s really lived hard. There was always a dream in my heart. I will always be a great trot singer."
From neighborhood village festivals to karaoke, he raced toward his dream without rest. And Lee Chan-won took a step forward as a singer by winning the top prize on "National Singing Contest." He failed the first audition program he tried, but later gained great popularity after appearing on "Mr. Trot."
Lee Chan-won said, "I really thought it was just a mere dream," and added, "At Yeungnam University there's a performance hall called Cheonma Art Center, and I used to watch performances and singers' shows there, and after a few years to become the person singing here, seeing it like this is deeply moving."
