Group SHINee member Onew (ONEW) struck the Japanese archipelago.
According to Japan's Oricon, Onew's Japanese mini album 2nd 'SAKU (saku)' ranked No. 1 on the weekly digital album ranking for Oct. 13 (tracking period Sept. 29, 2025–Oct. 5, 2025). Considering that 'SAKU' was released on the 1st, this achievement was reached with sales counted over just five days, which makes Onew's fervent popularity palpable.
With this, Onew became an artist who has had three albums reach No. 1 on the weekly digital album ranking: 'Who sings? Vol.1', 'Life goes on' and 'SAKU'.
'SAKU' previously topped the iTunes "Top Albums" charts in five countries and regions worldwide, including Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Saudi Arabia. With considerable popularity in Japan, 'SAKU' also captured top positions on major local charts, ranking No. 3 on the Oricon daily album ranking and No. 1 on the RecoChoku daily album ranking.
'SAKU' means the moment a flower blooms in Japanese, and each track unfolds storytelling related to flowers. A total of five songs are included, featuring the title track 花のように (Hana no yō ni), as well as 'KIMI=HANA (Kimi Hana)', 'Lily', 'Beautiful Snowdrop' and 'Cause I believe in your love'.
Onew officially launched his first solo world tour, 2025 ONEW WORLD TOUR 'ONEW THE LIVE : PERCENT (%)', starting in Seoul in August. Having recently completed successful shows in Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Tokyo, Onew will visit 16 cities worldwide, including Kaohsiung, São Paulo, Santiago, Mexico City, Paris, London, Madrid, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Tilburg, Warsaw and Berlin, to deliver his trusted live performances.
