Chef Anh Sung-jae surprised his wife with a ring to mark their 13th wedding anniversary.
On the 8th, a video titled "What surprise gift for the wife who made the current Anh Sung-jae?" was posted on the YouTube channel "Chef Anh Sung-jae."
That day Anh Sung-jae asked the production team for help with his wife's birthday present. He said, "It's a surprise gift. She doesn't even know I'm here," and added, "I want to do something meaningful for her, but I think I need to go and see."
Also, when asked, "Has madam been missing anything lately?" Anh Sung-jae replied, "There are many things I feel sorry about. I would even sigh."
He continued, "It looks decent now, but the road here was not smooth, and actually the time when we first married was the most difficult period," and recalled, "It wasn't just that we had no money, but if I didn't work even for a day we couldn't make ends meet."
Anh Sung-jae, who said they couldn't even go on a honeymoon at the time, explained, "Even without money, we had wedding rings. But because I wasn't used to wearing a ring, maybe a week later? I took the ring off, washed my hands, and it fell down the drain. I was startled. This is a big problem. We even called a drain service, but the building was old so it couldn't be retrieved."
Anh Sung-jae said, "At first I hid the fact that I lost the ring for a month. A month later my wife found out. I thought she would get angry, but she was sad and hurt. I thought about buying another ring, but we couldn't afford it, and already 13 years have passed," and planned to give matching rings as a gift.
He added, "But actually I always feel sorry. I shouldn't have dropped it back then, and it still remains with me."
Afterward, Anh Sung-jae visited a brand store famous for wedding rings. Following an employee's recommendation, he had a simple wedding ring custom made and surprised his wife with it a few days later, moving her to tears.
Anh Sung-jae awkwardly took out the wedding ring, saying, "It's a 13th anniversary gift; I don't know if she'll like it." The moment his wife saw the box, she beamed and said, "Why are you suddenly surprising me?" and couldn't take her eyes off it.
Soon the two slipped rings onto each other's fingers and displayed their unchanged affection, saying, "We fitted wedding rings after 13 years."
