Having passed the midpoint, the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice (directed by Song Hyun-wook, written by Jeon Yeong-shin) opens the door to an act two that races toward disaster. We looked at the key points to watch in the back half for each character amid a breathless progression in which shocking reversals and hidden stories surface.
◆ Lee Young-ae, will she end the perilous partnership and welcome "Walking On Thin Ice"?
To pay her husband's medical bills and debts, Kang Eun-su (Lee Young-ae) entered a forbidden world and, joining hands with Lee Kyung (Kim Young-kwang), began a perilous partnership. She made money by selling the items from the drug bag Phantom left behind, and even amid police crackdowns and pressure from the Phantom organization she boldly attempted online sales and continued in endlessly precarious circumstances. But when Phantom member Dong-hyun (Lee Kyu-seong) died, Eun-su decided to stop everything and burned the drugs and money. However, the choice she made to protect her family leads to another crisis when a new witness appears. Attention is focused on whether Eun-su can evade police pursuit, regain the life she lost and welcome the longed-for "Walking On Thin Ice."
◆ Kim Young-kwang, what is the truth of the incident 10 years ago?
By day Lee Kyung works as an art instructor and by night as a club MD, deliberately approaching Kang Hwi-rim (Do Sang-woo). After a single incident 10 years ago changed his life completely, Lee Kyung succeeded in gathering evidence related to Hwi-rim to reveal the truth. But unexpected variables arise one after another and throw his plan off course. Attention is focused on whether Lee Kyung can carry out his plan toward Hwi-rim without revealing his identity and whether he will achieve the goal he set.
◆ Park Yong-woo, will a 99% keen intuition lead to a clue?
Jang Tae-gu (Park Yong-woo) was chasing the missing Phantom drug bag when he picked up a clue related to the whereabouts of the missing bag at Phantom member Dong-hyun's house. Tae-gu finds meaning even in the smallest fleeting clues and stands at the center of the case, but another incident within the police throws things into chaos. All eyes are on what outcome his instinct for the truth will bring and how Tae-gu's actions will change the fates of the remaining characters.
The production team of "Walking On Thin Ice" said, "The intertwined stories of characters obsessed with desire will be revealed in earnest and further reversals will pour out," and asked viewers to "stay with Walking On Thin Ice until its final moments of unpredictable developments."
