BTS's "Spring Day" ranked 37th on Rolling Stone's list of the greatest songs of the 21st century.
Rolling Stone on the 8th (local time) announced on its official website "The 250 Greatest Songs of the 21st Century So Far." "Spring Day" occupied the highest position among Korean songs at 37, once again proving their irreplaceable influence.
Rolling Stone evaluated, "'Spring Day' is the signature song of BTS, one of the biggest pop groups of the 21st century. The feelings of recovery and hope that bloom amid loss deliver a transcendent resonance and led to BTS's global leap. Also, 'Spring Day' shows the strong cohesion in their music."
"Spring Day" is the title track of the repackage of their second full-length album YOU NEVER WALK ALONE, released in February 2017. It became the first song in Melon history to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams. From its release, it remained on daily charts for about 7 years and 11 months, holding the longest chart entry record in Melon history. The album containing the song entered the U.S. Billboard main album chart, the Billboard 200 (March 4, 2017), at No. 61 and charted for two consecutive weeks.
"Spring Day" is an alternative hip-hop song that combines Brit-rock sensibilities with electronic sounds. RM and Suga infused personal experiences into the lyrics, delivering a warm message of not losing hope while waiting to meet a distant friend. RM also participated in composing the song's main melody. The lyrical melody and beautiful lyrics have stirred many people's emotions and continue to receive steady love.
