Rapper DinDin candidly spoke about reactions within the entertainment industry and the aftermath after recently becoming a hot topic for a "conviction remark."
On the 8th, a video titled "Chuseok special 2 (Nagging) Please stop" was released on the YouTube channel "Naraesik." That broadcast featured MC Park Na-rae and DinDin, who displayed his uninhibited wit.
When the production team said, "These days DinDin has become more popular," DinDin snapped back, "What do you mean by that. Are you saying I didn't exist before? You call a celebrity and say such rude things?" and with his trademark cheerful reaction turned the set into a sea of laughter.
Earlier, DinDin drew attention for remarks criticizing celebrities' sense of money while working part-time at a cafe with Lee Jun on the web variety show "Workman." When Lee Jun asked, "A branch manager, isn't he getting a salary of 10 million won a month?" DinDin shot back, "Celebrities are the problem. They have no concept of currency value. They drive supercars, use Jenny beds, it's crazy," which became a "refreshing remark" that stirred discussion.
Park Na-rae said, "I saw that conviction remark too. I even saw the articles, and they talked about it on the radio," starting off. Then DinDin said, "After that comment I drew public anger from celebrities. I got a few calls saying 'let's teach him a lesson,'" revealing the bittersweet aftermath with a laugh. Park Na-rae added to the laughter by saying, "Right now the celebrities' association is keeping a close watch."
DinDin explained, "What I meant was 'people with normal thinking are fine,'" adding, "Because people's perceptions of currency value differ, it seems to have been distorted."
Meanwhile, DinDin is hosting KBS Cool FM's DinDin's Music High and is active in broadcasting as an all-purpose variety talent with his frank and witty speaking style.
