"I am SOLO" season 28 saw a major upheaval caused by a "second-choice date."
On the episode of the real dating show "I am SOLO" broadcast on ENA and SBS Plus on the 8th, the situation at "Solo Nation No. 28," where a large-scale romance shake-up occurred due to the women's "second-choice selections," was revealed.
Earlier, Jung-hee, who had chosen Young-ho as her second choice, went on a "1:1 date" with him. At the restaurant the two formed a bond as they talked about their views on relationships. After the date, Jung-hee laughed, saying, "This place is really strange. I like two people at the same time?" Young-ho also confessed that, following Ok-soon, he found Jung-hee on his mind as well, saying, "It's gotten a bit complicated."
Young-sook, who went on a "1:1 date" with Kwang-soo at a Japanese pub, revealed a painful past, saying, "After my divorce, cancer was found in three places." Immediately after, Young-sook drank a glass of sake and soon said, "I can't sit up straight," nearly fainting. Flustered, Kwang-soo took Young-sook to the emergency room, and after she regained consciousness Young-sook told the production team in an interview that she had "seen a new side" of Kwang-soo, revealing she was moved because he even massaged her bare feet. On the other hand, Kwang-soo revealed a surprising inner thought, saying, "She seems like a disobedient younger neighbor," and that "I don't have romantic feelings anymore."
On another "1:1 date," Young-chul and Soon-ja exchanged thoughts about long-distance relationships. Young-chul firmly said, "I can't change jobs," but Soon-ja said, "I've done long-distance relationships a lot. I was always the one who went," which made Young-chul's heart skip a beat. Through the "decision-making event," Jeong-sook, who had met Kyung-su in the past, directly asked Kyung-su about his feelings for her upon reuniting in Solo Nation. Kyung-su explained why he hadn't approached Jeong-sook, saying, "It's not that I'm not interested, but it seemed like things were going well with Young-sook." Young-soo chose Young-sook as his second choice, and Jeong-sook, who happened to hear Young-soo say, "It was so hard to pick a second choice," said in jealousy, "I'm so angry. I don't even feel good about him going on a date with Young-sook." Then Young-ho chose Jeong-sook, and Young-sik chose Young-ja. Young-chul again chose Soon-ja as his second choice, giving him two consecutive "second-choice dates." Afterwards Young-chul told the production team, "If there's no intersection with Young-ja tomorrow, this is destiny," suggesting he might solidify his feelings for Soon-ja. Kwang-soo chose Young-sook as his second choice, which made Jung-hee, who saw it, put on a stern expression, saying, "I didn't know Young-sook was in Kwang-soo's heart."
