The group izna received spotlight for remarkable concentration and presence at their first 'Idol Star Athletics Championships' debut.
izna competed in the newly added mixed shooting event on MBC's 2025 Chuseok special Idol Star Athletics Championships (hereafter ISAC) broadcast on the 8th, and despite it being their first attempt since debut, they showed outstanding performance.
Bang Ji-min and Choi Jeong-eun joined the mixed shooting event with ZEROBASEONE's Sung Hanbin and Kim Ji-woong, marking their first ISAC appearance since debut. Entering the semifinal with their team leading 6-4, Bang Ji-min was praised as showing "professional-level form" for precise posture and perfect center balance. Choi Jeong-eun then calmly shut down the opponents' comeback, typical of someone from a shooting club, securing the team's spot in the final while leading 18-12.
In the final, Bang Ji-min and Choi Jeong-eun's concentration and composure shone. With the team trailing 4-6, Bang Ji-min stepped in as the second shooter and not only engineered a comeback but dominated the arena with a 10.4 X-ten. Choi Jeong-eun, the final shooter, did not give up despite trailing 11-19 and created a turning point by scoring 10.1 on her first shot. The two encouraged each other and the members until the end, leaving a strong impression befitting "shooting goddesses" in their first appearance.
While Bang Ji-min and Choi Jeong-eun competed as athletes, Mai, Coco, Yoo Sa-rang, and Jung Se-bi shone with fiery energy in the cheering section. They ran around the arena offering wholehearted support to their fellow idols, and whenever caught on camera they elevated ISAC's atmosphere with lively expressions and witty cheering phrases. From warm-ups to the end, their continuous high energy effectively played the role of cheer captains and brightened the venue inside and out.
At their first ISAC, izna proved their visuals, skills and teamwork, establishing themselves as a leading next-generation idol. Their polished performances, variety show sensibilities and passionate cheering conveyed the group's positive energy and captured viewers' attention.
Meanwhile, izna has continued active promotions across music shows and variety programs since releasing their second mini album Not Just Pretty (Not Just Pretty) on the 30th of last month. Expectations are growing for izna's trajectory at the center of the new generation with solid skills and diverse charms.<
