Group BLACKPINK member Jennie (JENNIE) promotes the beauty of Korea with a new Hangul font that blends traditional aesthetics and modern sensibility.
On the 9th, her agency OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) announced on its official website and SNS channels the release of a new font, "ZEN SERIF" (Zen Serif), created with the hope that more people can use Hangul conveniently and beautifully.
Also OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) registered a Hangul font for the first time in the Instagram short-form video editing app Edits (Edits) through a collaboration with Meta (Meta), and from today (the 9th) all app users worldwide can freely use the new font.
This "ZEN SERIF" font was released to showcase the beauty of Hangul worldwide by embodying the traditional aesthetic and modern sensibility as the identity of Jennie and OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER), and its release coinciding with Hangul Day makes it even more meaningful.
Previously, Jennie introduced Korean style to the world with the tracks "ZEN" (Zen) and "Seoul City" (Seoul City) from her first full-length album, and she has shown special love and pride for Korea through various activities, including serving as an honorary ambassador for Seoul tourism.
"ZEN SERIF" breaks away from a fixed image and is a newly created font from today's perspective. It minimizes ornamentation to preserve essence, softens a rigid impression while adding flexible curves to capture the delicate artistry characteristic of OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER). By combining the Western traditional typeface blackletter with Hangul, it completes an unfamiliar pairing no one had attempted before.
OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) and Jennie, who continually pioneer new paths, became the first entertainment agency to release and distribute a font for free, leaving another fresh impression and raising expectations for their future endeavors in various fields.
