Actress Angelina Jolie is preparing a new start abroad after her divorce from Brad Pitt.
U.S. weekly US Weekly recently reported, "Angelina Jolie plans to establish residences in three regions: Cambodia, France and Africa. Each place holds special meaning for her."
Jolie adopted her eldest son Maddox from Cambodia, and her two daughters Zahara and Shiloh were born in Ethiopia and Namibia respectively. The 17-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne are from Nice, France, and another son, Pax, was born in Vietnam. All of them were with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
A source told US Weekly, "Because the youngest will turn 18 in July, Jolie is preparing for change. Every place she chose is very special. She has dear friends there whom she considers family."
Jolie has long dreamed of moving abroad. In a 2019 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she said, "When the children all turn 18, I want to live abroad. For now, I have to be based where their father has decided to live." Jolie and Pitt separated in 2016, but after an eight-year legal battle their divorce was officially finalized in 2024.
Another source said, "Jolie still loves Los Angeles, but she feels that it has now served its purpose for her. She is ready to open a new chapter. You can feel a sense of change in her," adding, "Jolie will continue to travel to and from LA for work, but she will not call it 'home.'"
Earlier, Page Six reported that Jolie had already put her California mansion on the market last August.
Jolie recently attended the San Sebastian International Film Festival in Spain and voiced regret about the political climate in the United States. She said, "I love my country, but right now I don't recognize my country. I have always lived internationally, and my family is international. My life and worldview are equal and consolidated. I think it is very dangerous to limit or divide someone's personal expression and freedom. These are such serious times that we should not speak carelessly," she said.
