Um Ji-in anchor had a varied Chuseok holiday.
On the 7th, Um Ji-in posted on her personal account, "Selected for the 2025 Chuseok day closing news. If not now, will I ever sit in the news anchor seat again? With that thought I'm leaving this on my feed," along with a screenshot of her delivering the news.
She added, "It was fun after a long time, and as expected the newsroom lighting was nice," sharing her thoughts on the broadcast.
Um Ji-in's last time anchoring the news was in June 2021. After about four years, Um Ji-in sat in the anchor seat again, and it appears she posted the message herself to record the moment.
In addition, on the 8th Um Ji-in hurriedly filled in as a guest DJ for KBS Cool FM's "Lee Eun-ji's Gayo Plaza." Um Ji-in posted a selfie on her personal account saying, "I'm currently filling in for Gayo Plaza."
The "Lee Eun-ji's Gayo Plaza" side also said, "The 'Eun-ji's edit shop OMG' segment will take a break today due to the DJ's health. We apologize for the sudden notice and ask for listeners' understanding." It added that "Gayo Plaza" would be hosted by Um Ji-in as a special DJ and that she would spend two hours with listeners' stories and song requests.
Um Ji-in hosted the radio in a bright voice, explaining the situation before continuing: "I have taken over the baton from Lee Eun-ji. You must have been surprised by the unfamiliar voice; Lee Eun-ji was absent due to a condition issue. Seeing her break out in a cold sweat when she left made me worry."
Um Ji-in joined KBS as a member of its 33rd announcer class in 2007 and has worked on various programs including Our Language Contest, Talk on the Town, Morning Yard, and The Secret of Aging, Illness and Death. She currently appears with junior announcers on the variety program Boss, Your Ears Are Donkey Ears, showcasing the charms of the announcer bureau.
Um Ji-in married in 2014 and has one son and one daughter, but she previously said her family currently resides in Japan following her husband, who is a university professor there. Um Ji-in's confession about her feelings as a gireogi mother drew attention.
