7th tvN aired the first episode of "Kim Chang-ok Show 4" (CP Jeong Min-sik, directed by Bom Kim, Kim Hyo-yeon), opening with great fanfare. Conflict resolver Kim Chang-ok delivered empathy magic as a communication master and conflict closer, transcending borders in Tokyo among Koreans, ethnic Koreans in Japan and Japanese.
"Kim Chang-ok Show 4" returned thanks to steady support from domestic and international viewers, delivering laughter and emotion with a variety of stories and an upgraded Kim Chang-ok's wit, proving itself as Korea's representative communication lecture. The broadcast featured local Japanese applicants who overcame an incredible 51-to-1 competition ratio, and Kim Chang-ok's communication lecture continued under the theme "because I hate Japan, because I like Japan." With Hwang Jae-seong's skillful prompting and the audience's thunderous cheers and applause, Kim Chang-ok appeared as the center of applause, giving a strong sense of his popularity. Kim Chang-ok greeted the Japanese audience with gratitude and delight for the many lecture requests he had received. In this season, Hwang Jae-seong again played an indispensable spice role with fiery reactions, and Oh Na-ra, newly joining as an MC, showcased her characteristic bright energy and acted as an empathy fairy. In particular, Oh Na-ra said she was a member of Japan's leading theater company "Saki" and lived in Japan for three years, and she said her name means "fart" in Japanese, so when she introduces herself in Japan, the local people's reactions burst out, drawing great response.
"Kim Chang-ok Show 4" is a conflict-resolution lecture show presented by Kim Chang-ok, a legend-class lecturer in Korea's lecture scene, for those of us living in an era of communication crisis caused by overload, hyper-efficiency and endless competition. Under the slogan "We resolve every single conflict," passionate lectures continued. Amid various concerns arising from cultural differences, such as Japan's unique mamotomo culture (relationships among mothers formed through their children), constant sumimasen (I'm sorry) and gomen nasai (sorry) apology culture, Kim Chang-ok emphasized the importance of the fact that, regardless of environmental differences between Japan and Korea, everything ultimately depends on the thoughts of the "self" within. He offered warm advice that if one first meets oneself and devotes sincerity to moments of connection, the universal language of sincerity will be understood.
Among the stories, the audience was moved to tears by the tale of a Japanese mother and daughter whose father, who left home four years ago, returned and acted as if nothing had happened. The mother, a fan of Kim Chang-ok, and her Korean-proficient daughter appeared together, and facing the mother and daughter who were comforting each other and confronting the sudden hurt caused by the father, Kim Chang-ok deeply comforted them, saying, "Being able to reveal a hard-to-open worry is proof that you have the strength to overcome it." He also promised to invite the Japanese mother and daughter to Korea, saying they needed rest, moving them deeply.
When an employee said she wanted to escape Japan because her boss called her in even on weekends, the boss surprised everyone with a bombshell, saying he actually thought of the employee as a real son and that if she were a woman he would want to marry her. He also sincerely said he had been grooming her as a company successor to pass on his know-how. For the bewildered employee who had been unknowingly chosen as the successor, Kim Chang-ok said he wanted to come to Japan in her place, and the boss quickly rejected, saying, "(Then) we'd have to close the company," prompting uproarious laughter.
In addition, a woman who has lived in Japan for more than 10 years and worries she does not fit in because of her spirited personality that cannot tolerate injustice, a husband who is experiencing postpartum depression in place of his wife, and a Korean woman who felt great loneliness after starting her first job in Japan because of cultural differences with society and her boyfriend were among other diverse stories that combined laughter and emotion, once again delivering Kim Chang-ok's empathy magic and announcing a pleasant start for "Kim Chang-ok Show 4."
