On the 9th, MBC's Save Me! Homes (directed by Jung Da-hee, Nam Yoo-jung, Heo Ja-yoon, Kim Sung-nyeon, hereafter "Homes") will air the second installment of neighborhoods specialized for professions! The show will visit the Gangnam university hospital district for an on-site inspection.
This episode is the second installment of neighborhoods specialized for professions and will conduct an on-site inspection in Suseo and Irwon-dong, where university hospitals are located. Recently, "hospital zones," where you can walk to a university hospital and that have medical infrastructure, have become popular. On "Homes," the crew carefully dissects everything from houses near hospitals to various infrastructure during the on-site inspection, and meets a variety of people who run around to save lives.
The "Gangnam hospital zone" inspection will be joined by former otolaryngology doctor and original author of the web novel The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Lee Nak-jun, broadcaster Kangnam, and Joo Woo-jae. The three inspect S Seoul Hospital, located in Irwon-dong, Gangnam District, one of the big five university hospitals.
Joo Woo-jae introduces the hospital by saying, "This hospital is located at the edge of Gangnam District, so green trees and Daemosan are standard options. SRT Suseo Station is nearby, and the hospital sees more than 8,000 outpatients a day on average." Lee Nak-jun said, "I spent four years as an otolaryngology trainee at this university hospital. I experienced all kinds of emergency situations here."
The three visited an apartment located a five-minute walk from the hospital; the apartment was completed in 1993, and the hospital opened one year later. Many doctors live among the residents, so it is nicknamed the "doctor apartment." The apartment interior boasts a sleek and tasteful design after a full remodel. Finding a family photo of the homeowner, Lee Nak-jun said it was the home of a junior from his medical school, surprising everyone.
The three meet the homeowner and talk about "wise neighborhood life near the hospital heard from a doctor in Irwon-dong." The homeowner, who said they were a junior of Lee Nak-jun, said, "Lee Nak-jun focused more on humanities than medical studies during university. I remember he read a lot of books." Regarding the so-called "doctor apartment," they said, "Actually, an orthopedic doctor lives next door, and the former hospital director lives in the downstairs unit. The whole neighborhood is made up of doctors," drawing attention.
They then inspect the commercial district of the university hospital zone. A popular food alley located in the hospital's back alleys reportedly gathers all the neighborhood's famous restaurants. There, the three meet Lee Seung-chan, a surgeon at S Seoul Hospital who appeared as a main cast member on the hit reality show Better Late Than Single. Lee Seung-chan, a second-year surgical resident, candidly reveals his 31-year-long single life in the hospital. Lee Nak-jun raised expectations by saying he would reveal his own dating tips, noting that not everyone is single because they're busy and that residents often meet each other within the hospital.
Asked about his ideal type, Lee Seung-chan said he likes a round, cute style and named Park Bo-young and Park Eun-bin. In the studio, Kim Sook said Park Na-rae is also round and cute, to which Park Na-rae responded with the explosive remark, "I can open a clinic for you," heating up the atmosphere, according to reports.
