Choi Seong-eun and Kim Gun-woo meet in an intriguing relationship in "The Last Summer."
The new KBS 2TV weekend miniseries The Last Summer, directed by Min Yeon-hong and written by Jeon Yu-ri, set to premiere Nov. 1 at 9:20 p.m., is a remodeling romance drama that unfolds as a man and woman who have been friends since childhood confront the truth of their first love hidden in Pandora's box.
Choi Seong-eun plays Song Ha-gyeong, an architectural civil servant nicknamed "Dr. Song," from the neighborhood of Pattanmyeon where she grew up from age 12, and Kim Gun-woo appears as Seo Su-hyeok, the youngest son of Korea's top law firm Seounju and an appellate specialist lawyer. The two will meet as plaintiff and opposing counsel and drive the drama's narrative.
In this regard, a two-shot still previewing the unique chemistry between Choi Seong-eun and Kim Gun-woo was released today (8th). Ha-gyeong, who ends up in a legal dispute with childhood friend Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook), meets his lawyer Su-hyeok outside the courtroom. The two maintain soft smiles while keeping the tension taut, and a sharp psychological battle plays out between them.
Meanwhile, another still showing a completely different atmosphere from the previous scene was captured. In a relaxed setting, Ha-gyeong and Su-hyeok walk side by side with smiles, stealing viewers' attention. The contrast between the two who had been at odds raises viewers' curiosity about what led them to form such a meaningful mood. Expectations for the premiere are growing as the synergy of Choi Seong-eun and Kim Gun-woo and the diverse characters' charms are promised to shine.
The Last Summer is the result of the collaboration between writer Jeon Yu-ri, who showed gripping writing in Kiss Six Sense and Radio Romance, and director Min Yeon-hong, who demonstrated solid directing in Royal Deodder, the Missing: They Were There series, and Insider.
