Actress Seo Yu-jeong spoke about her feelings directly two years after her divorce.
Seo Yu-jeong uploaded a video titled "Songdo and the divorce" on her personal YouTube channel "Yujeong and Jujeong" on the 7th.
In the video, Seo Yu-jeong visited Songdo in Incheon, where she lived before the divorce, and reminisced about the past. She confessed, "It's a place I lived for four years; it was good to live in, but it was a painful place for me. My daughter was born here during COVID. After moving here I had no friends or acquaintances. When you go out you always see moms, dads, and children, but it was always just my daughter and me."
She went on to speak about her ex-husband, saying, "There weren't any similar parts. Our ways of thinking were completely different. When you're young you don't know anything and you just get by, but when you get older and marry, don't people say you become more stubborn? That seems to be true. Looking back now, I was immature then."
In particular, Seo Yu-jeong recalled appearing with her ex-husband on TV Chosun's variety show "The Taste of Wife" before their divorce, saying, "That time was very hard. So I wanted to see ourselves directly. I wanted to see how I acted, how the other person acted, and look back at ourselves as we were." She added with regret, "But these days shows like SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams' even show fights as they are; at that time we had to show only the parts where we were living well."
Seo Yu-jeong lived separately from her ex-husband starting when their daughter was just eight months old. Recalling that time, she confessed, "There were times when my husband came once every two weeks, and times when he didn't come at all. We lived like that for two more years, but the resentment was so great that it was painful. It took a year to get out of that. Our daughter needed her father, but the problems between me and my ex-husband were painful."
Now feeling better, Seo Yu-jeong defended her ex-husband as the father of her daughter, saying, "He's someone who didn't suit me, not a bad person." Still, she became tearful, showing emotion that added to the poignancy.
Seo Yu-jeong married a noncelebrity who was three years her senior in 2017 and gave birth to a daughter in 2019. However, they divorced in February 2023, six years after their marriage.
