"Idol Star Athletics Championships" X:IN Nova wins dance sport gold medal.
The results of events such as dance sport, pistol shooting and the 400m relay were revealed on the MBC broadcast of 2025 Chuseok special Idol Star Athletics Championships (hereinafter ISAC) that aired on the afternoon of the 8th.
First up was the most talked-about dance sport competition, featuring FIFTY FIFTY Moon Chanel, who recently drew attention with the Pookie challenge, and KISS OF LIFE Julie, who earned the nickname "hot summer queen" with overwhelming vocal power and hip performances. Also competing were hidden talents including tripleS Jiyeon, a ballet major, and X:IN Nova, a professional dancer with 15 years of dance sport experience, who newly entered to compete for the title of the top girl group "dancing queen."
In the early rounds, rookie girl group X:IN's Nova drew attention. Despite this being her first appearance this year, she was watched by everyone. She was a veteran who had showcased dance sport since age 4 and boasted 15 years of Latin experience.
Nova held first place with high scores, and then last year's silver medalist WOOAH's Nana made a renewed bid for gold. She performed choreography to the mega-hit "Golden" from the Netflix film K-pop Demon Hunters, but finished in a disappointing fifth place.
Moon Chanel appeared as the final performer, and Jun Hyun-moo said, "I heard this person is really a dark horse," while the expert commentator said, "She chose an old Latin pop genre, and because Moon Chanel was born in the United States, she is familiar with Latin pop. Her expressiveness itself will likely differ from the other contestants," expressing anticipation. Right after the performance, Jun Hyun-moo said, "The stage was as luxurious as her name," Lee Eun-ji said, "She executed the detailed moves very well," and the commentator said, "The concept expressed with the liability and samba matched very well."
However, Nova's passionate performance and score were not surpassed, and this year's winner was decided to be Nova. X:IN members all ran up to congratulate her on the gold medal. Nova said, "This was a stage I've wanted for a long time. Even before coming to Korea it was my dream to appear. Since X:IN got to appear, I was very happy. I prepared hard with a happy heart and enjoyed the stage," offering her remarks upon receiving the award.
