SBS 'Gol(Goal) Ttaerineun Geunyeodeul' (hereinafter 'Golttaenyeo') reveals Golttaenyeo's first external tournament challenge at the 'Queen Cup.'
This broadcast shows Golttaenyeo entering the women's soccer tournament "Queen Cup" hosted by Korea Professional Football League (KPFL), stepping beyond their own league to challenge a completely unfamiliar stage. The Queen Cup, now in its 15th year, is the representative amateur women's soccer tournament that brings together top talents from across the country. Accordingly, the G League's first- and second-place teams, FC Gucheokjangsin and FC Wonder Woman, will sortie as the strongest united team under the direction of coach Jo Jae-jin. Meanwhile, Gucheokjangsin and Wonder Woman began a training camp in Boryung ahead of their Queen Cup entry. At Boryung Sports Park they started full-scale tournament preparations by holding 6-on-6 matches using a futsal ball. Chairperson Ha Seok-ju emphasized, "Adapting to the futsal ball is most important," stressing a focus on getting used to the unfamiliar feel of the ball. Players who initially felt awkward with the futsal ball learned its feel through repeated training, and the chemistry as a united team became much stronger. After training, Wonder Woman's Kim Seol-hee said, "(With Gucheokjangsin) I was like, 'Do we fit this well?' " expressing expectations for the synergy of the new combination. Attention is on whether Gucheokjangsin and Wonder Woman, representing Golttaenyeo on the Queen Cup stage, can defend their pride in matchups against powerhouse teams.
