Today (8th) Wednesday night airing MBC "Radio Star" (planned by Kang Young-sun / directed by Hwang Yoon-sang, Byun Da-hee) is presented as a Chuseok special "The mood is saved" featuring Jang Jin, Kim Ji-hoon, Kim Kyung-ran and Choi Ye-na.
In a video released ahead of the broadcast, MC Kim Guk-jin asks Jang Jin, "Is the memorable 'attention seeker' from your Seoul Institute of the Arts days Im Won-hee?" Jang Jin, speaking as a director, picks junior Im Won-hee as "one of the most ideal actors," and also mentions Jung Jae-young and Shin Ha-kyun, drawing attention. He praises "born actors" who may appear introverted outwardly but switch to actor mode in front of the camera and perform with more passion than anyone else.
Jang Jin then revealed a special connection with Im Won-hee. During his military service, when he did not even know where his unit had been assigned, he suddenly received a request for a visit from parents, and it turned out to be Im Won-hee's parents. Im Won-hee, having heard that his senior Jang Jin was at a nearby unit, asked his parents to request a visit. Jang Jin expressed gratitude for Im Won-hee's warm heart, saying, "The mother applied to visit Im Won-hee, and the father applied to visit me."
Meanwhile, Jang Jin poured out episodes he experienced while serving in the same unit with Im Won-hee. Jang Jin revealed that Im Won-hee, because of his distinctive head shape, did not fasten the chin strap of his bulletproof helmet, and told a story that when playing soccer, goalkeepers on the same team were most afraid of Im Won-hee, eliciting laughter. Jang Jin showed affection for Im Won-hee, saying, "He didn't fit with the military, but he was a big support. I felt reassured because Won-hee was there."
The special connection between director Jang Jin and actor Im Won-hee can be seen on "Radio Star," which airs today (8th) Wednesday night at 9:50 p.m. as a Chuseok special, starting 40 minutes earlier than usual.
Meanwhile, "Radio Star" is loved as a unique talk show that disarms guests and draws out real stories with sharp wit from MCs who can go anywhere.
