Actor Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran, who played a married couple in the film No Other Choice, praised each other following their pairing.
On the afternoon of the 8th, Lee Sung-min appeared as a guest on the live SBS radio show Two O'Clock Escape Cultwo Show (abbreviated Cultwo Show). He met DJs Kim Tae-gyun and Hwang Chi-yeul and talked about his recent activities.
Lee Sung-min is meeting audiences with the film No Other Choice, which recently surpassed 2 million viewers. No Other Choice tells the story of Mansu (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who felt his life was so satisfying that he thought "it was all completed," who is abruptly fired and prepares his own war for reemployment to protect his wife and two children and to keep the house he worked hard to buy.
In particular, the film is director Park Chan-wook's new work, and actor Lee Byung-hun has been praised for his passionate performance as the protagonist Mansu. Among them, Lee Sung-min plays Beommо, Mansu's rival, showing a married-couple dynamic with Ara, played by breakout actor Yum Hye-ran.
Lee Sung-min declared of his on-screen married chemistry with Yum Hye-ran, "Ms. Hye-ran is an actress I've had impressed in my mind for 20 years," adding, "The married chemistry was nothing short of perfect." He especially marveled, "Ms. Hye-ran prepared a lot and communicated a lot with the director. That's not my style, but she was an actor who constantly went back and forth between monitoring and the set to communicate."
He went on, "She did a stage greeting on Chuseok and is probably at her parents' home in Yeosu now. I got a text yesterday saying she was in Yeosu, so she said she might join a video call," revealing news about Yum Hye-ran. A real-time call between Yum Hye-ran and the Cultwo Show was then made. A surprised Yum Hye-ran laughed and asked, "Did you really call me?"
It was the Cultwo Show production team calling from the station number, not Lee Sung-min's personal contact. Lee Sung-min laughed, "Why would you answer a call from an unknown number?" Yum Hye-ran laughed about the acting praise, saying, "It's Chuseok now, so my nephews came over, we ate, had a cup of coffee," and jokingly added, "I think I did what (Lee Sung-min) told me to do well."
