'King of Singers2' champion Park Seojin on the 8th (today) at 6 p.m. released a surprise four-question, four-answer interview expressing his overwhelming feelings ahead of the release of the 'King of Singers2' winner's privilege song 'Your Story'.
'The 2nd King of Singers' Park Seojin is an all-round trot singer with a distinctive janggu performance and plaintive vocal power, and he has showcased fantastic skills on both 'King of Singers2' and '2025 Korea-Japan King of Singers Competition', demonstrating the dignity of an unrivaled national champion.
Above all, the 'King of Singers2' winner's privilege song 'Your Story' is a piece created by 'the trot world's top maestro' Yoon Myeongseon, who composed numerous hits, and 'national representative one-hit trot singer' Park Seojin, who joined forces to deliver the essence of Park Seojin-style emotional trot that will move listeners. With its mature melody, deep lyrics and plaintive singing forming a trinity, 'Your Story' is expected to explode Park Seojin's charm and change the worldview of autumn trot songs.
In this regard, 'King of Singers2' champion Park Seojin revealed fans' reactions, his dreams and future plans in a written interview ahead of the release of the 'King of Singers2' winner's privilege song 'Your Story', which will be released at 6 p.m. on the 8th (today). Below are Park Seojin's four questions and four answers.
Q1. Yoon Myeongseon, the composer of 'Your Story', who was also a master on 'King of Singers2', wrote the lyrics and composed the song. Was there anything different when you met him as a producer?
Composer Yoon Myeongseon is a composer with a kind of bouncy-ball style who can spring surprises. Even during casual conversations he would get inspired, and I really felt his artist side. Especially during recording, he conducted me in the studio as if I were an instrument, and I sang following his direction. At first I was half worried and half doubtful, thinking 'Will this work?', but surprisingly the song came out well. I thought it was a new experience.
Q2. At the 'King of Singers2' encore concert, fans reportedly cried when they heard 'Your Story.' Which parts do you think triggered the fans' tears?
I don't really know yet, but perhaps at first they thought it was just a slow song with calm music, and when they heard the lyrics they felt comforted. I think the lyrics formed a sense of empathy, either expressing what someone wants to say to a loved one or conversely things people wanted to hear.
Q3. What parts did you pay attention to when singing 'Your Story', and who do you hope will listen to it?
I tried to put aside emotion and sing it plainly. I hope people listen to 'Your Story' when they need peace of mind or comfort. My fan base of women would be good, but I also hope men listen and try singing it for their loved ones at karaoke to show courage.
Q4. Do you plan to sing 'Your Story' at the upcoming Korea-Japan TOP7 joint concert, and how do you plan to charm Japanese fans?
I plan to sing 'Your Story' at the Korea-Japan TOP7 joint concert. If possible, I'm considering singing 'Your Story' with Japanese lyrics for the Japanese audience. Also, I want to show Japanese fans that my janggu performance is used as an instrument rather than dance. I want to show both the excitement and han by singing with our traditional instrument, the janggu.
Meanwhile, Park Seojin's 'King of Singers2' victory commemorative new song 'Your Story' will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 8th (today).
