Rookie Park Ji-sang shared his thoughts on the conclusion of his debut KBS 1TV daily drama Catch Your Luck.
KBS 1TV daily drama Catch Your Luck (written by Son Ji-hye / directed by Park Man-young, Lee Hae-woo / produced by Monster Union, Box Media) is a drama that depicts the tear-jerking, tumultuous coming-of-age story of three friends who are rich, poor, and want to be rich, and their families.
In the drama, Park Ji-sang plays the eldest son of Mu-cheol (played by Son Chang-min), a high-spec unemployed person aiming for a once-in-a-lifetime chance who, while growing his wealth through stock investment, faces a crisis overnight. Meeting A-jin (played by Kim Hyun-ji) leads him to realize sincere feelings and grow, resulting in a heartwarming conclusion.
With the boldness of a newcomer and sly acting skills, he completed a successful drama debut, and expectations are rising for his future performances.
The following are Park Ji-sang's Q&A about the conclusion of Catch Your Luck.
- I am curious how you feel about sending off Catch Your Luck. The biggest feeling is being both relieved and sad. Although there were many hard moments over the eight months, I grew very attached through working with the director, staff and actors. I feel relieved that it's over, but the sadness that comes with it is the strongest feeling.
- What do you think are the charm points of the character Han Tae-ha and how closely does he match you in real life?
I think about 70%. I'm also an optimistic person, so at first I thought it was 100%, but the more I studied the Tae-ha character, the more differences from me appeared, and it was fun to adjust to those differences.
- How was the atmosphere on set, and were there any funny episodes? The set was always warm and friendly. The male actors used the same waiting room, and the seniors created a comfortable and fun atmosphere. Thanks to that, I could relax and act comfortably.
- This is your first drama debut; did you prepare anything special? Being my first drama, I felt a lot of pressure and many things were daunting. So I focused more on the character and received a lot of help from seniors on things I didn't know during filming.
- If there is something you learned or grew from through this work? Above all, I think I learned "consideration." It was my first social experience and my first acting debut; I learned a lot about acting, but I also learned how to consider others, communicate, and coordinate performances on set.
- Are there any images you want to show the public in the future or roles and genres you want to challenge? Actually, since I was young, my dream was to be a superhero like Superman or Batman. Someday I want to shoot a superhero project too. Please look forward to it, haha.
- Any words for the viewers who loved Catch Your Luck and Park Ji-sang? Thank you for giving me an almost excessive amount of interest and love. I'm always surprised and grateful when people recognize me on the street. I will come back in another work with an even cooler appearance! Thank you so much for being with me until the end.
