The group ONEWE returned with a new album that poured all their musical passion.
ONEWE (Yonghoon, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Kiwoong) released their fourth mini album MAZE : AD ASTRA today (7th) at 6 p.m. on various music sites.
MAZE : AD ASTRA means "to break through adversity and reach the stars." A total of seven tracks were included, featuring the title track "Maze (MAZE)" as well as "Lucky 12," "UFO (unidentified flying object)," "Hide & Seek," "Trace," "You and me, and... (彫刻 : Diary)," and "Beyond the Storm."
In particular, all five members participated in the songwriting, capturing an even more evolved musical capability, and below is ONEWE's Q&A ahead of the release of MAZE : AD ASTRA.
Q. It's been about seven months since your previous release. You returned with the fourth mini album MAZE : AD ASTRA. How do you feel about the release?
Yonghoon: I'm happy to be able to show you new songs, and thinking of WEEBs (the fandom name) who will be happy makes me excited.
Dongmyeong: Because we worked hard and cherished this album, I'm excited and happy that it is coming out to the world like this.
Harin: I think MAZE : AD ASTRA is a piece of ONEWE's passion for this year. Especially since it's an album all the members are proud of, I'm really looking forward to sharing it with WEEBs and listeners.
Q. Please give a brief introduction to the fourth mini album MAZE : AD ASTRA.
Kanghyun: MAZE : AD ASTRA tells ONEWE's own story of passing through a maze and setting off to find the stars. In line with that concept, we expressed the theme with the song "UFO (unidentified flying object)."
Kiwoong: Overall, centered on the keyword "maze," we blended bright and upbeat songs with calm tracks in a diverse way. The title track "Maze (MAZE)" has a refreshing feel, but we thought calm songs that suit autumn were also necessary, so we filled the album harmoniously with seven songs.
Q. Please introduce the title track "Maze (MAZE)" and share any listening points.
Kiwoong: I thought the process of wandering in human relationships is like a maze, so I playfully explored the maze as a keyword. The listening points of the title track "Maze (MAZE)" are the brass that fills in at times, the bass and drum rhythm that hops like stepping stones, the novelty of the song's key changing four times, the amazing bass solo followed by a guitar solo that answers with a unison line! There are so many points, so I hope people listen a lot.
Q. It's unusual to comeback during the Chuseok holiday. Which song from MAZE : AD ASTRA would you recommend as fitting for Chuseok?
Yonghoon: I recommend "Lucky 12." I hope overflowing luck fills everyone who listens to this song. I hope our music can add happiness to the long holiday.
Harin: I'd pick "You and me, and... (彫刻 : Diary)." With the cooler weather, I think it would be nice to have healing time by listening to calm music with family.
Q. Lastly, please say a word to WEEBs who have been waiting for ONEWE's comeback.
Yonghoon: When the album comes out, I'm really grateful to WEEBs who may be even happier than ONEWE. As I always say, I hope this album's promotions leave only happy and good memories for WEEBs.
