Cheerleader Kim Yeon-jeong, who is scheduled to hold a wedding in December, spoke directly about her marriage to Ha Ju-seok.
On the 8th, Kim Yeon-jeong wrote on her personal SNS, "Hello, I am Kim Yeon-jeong. I think many of you were very surprised by the suddenly reported news, so after much 고민 I decided to leave this post."
Earlier, it was reported that Kim Yeon-jeong would marry Hanwha Eagles baseball player Ha Ju-seok on Dec. 6. In relation to this, the YouTube channel "Baseball Manager" said the two had been dating for about five years.
Baseball Manager explained, "According to Ha Ju-seok, 'She helped me at my most difficult time. She really helped me when I caused trouble and wasn't meeting people.'" During the five years the two dated, Ha Ju-seok was involved in controversies including drunk driving and questions about his character.
Originally the marriage was to be announced through Kim Yeon-jeong's YouTube channel, but it fell through when MBC commentator Jung Min-chul mentioned it during a live broadcast. Baseball Manager said, "The news had already spread around the baseball world."
About the marriage, Kim Yeon-jeong said, "As reported in the articles, I have found a precious person who promised to spend their life with me. We care for each other and are seeing each other happily, so I would appreciate it if you would watch over us warmly."
Kim Yeon-jeong continued, "Thanks to the fans who have always supported me, cheered for me, supported the cheering me does and have been a great strength both in the stadium and outside, I have been able to continue smiling and working in this position."
She added, "I will not forget the love and support you have always sent me, and I will repay you by staying bright and healthy. Meanwhile, Ha Ju-seok joined the Hanwha Eagles as the No. 1 overall pick in the first round of the 2012 rookie draft. Despite ups and downs from controversies such as drunk driving and bench clearing, Ha Ju-seok, who served as the starting shortstop and captain, signed a free agent contract worth a total of 110 million won to remain with the Hanwha Eagles before this season. In the latter half of this season he hit .314, helping the team reach the postseason for the first time in seven years.
Kim Yeon-jeong debuted as a cheerleader for Ulsan Mobis Phoebus in 2007 and, for her looks resembling actress Jeon Ji-hyun, was called "Kyungsung University's Jeon Ji-hyun." Along with Park Ki-ryang and Kang Yoon-i, she was noted as one of the "three goddesses of baseball stadiums." Standing 172 cm tall with looks similar to Jeon Ji-hyun, Kim Yeon-jeong gained great popularity as a cheerleader. She worked with Hanwha Eagles (2009-2011), Lotte Giants (2012), NC Dinos (2013-2016), and since 2017 has been active again as a Hanwha Eagles cheerleader.
