A former member of the group Brown Eyed Soul, Seonghun, claimed that his departure from the team was not his decision.
Seonghun said on the 7th, "Yesterday I heard from my most precious fan that they couldn't do anything even at the concert, and I decided, albeit late, that I should humbly state my position," adding, "First, I did not decide to leave. In 2022 I was waiting for Brown Eyed Soul's album recording. But Naul hyung's throat was bad, and since he didn't know when his voice would return, I just prayed and waited."
He continued, "So because I couldn't just wait forever, I decided to release a second album, and in the meantime, seeing Naul hyung appearing on Hangout with Yoo I felt relieved. But one morning I woke up to find Naul hyung's voice had already returned, and I learned through the internet that Naul hyung's solo project had been planned."
He went on, "I think I first revealed it on a podcast with Eco Bridge, but until the day before I had been praying for Naul hyung's voice to return, so this came as a huge shock to me," adding, "Is this what they call a 'trigger'? The sadness and anger I'd held in for 20 years began to explode."
He also said he was prevented from running his YouTube channel. Seonghun revealed, "Still, what kept me going in that time was a channel called SUNG BY HOON. Even though the view counts weren't high, I was so happy. But the boss stopped me from doing YouTube anymore."
Seonghun said, "He even told me to kneel and beg Naul hyung if I wanted to keep going. Even now, the words that the hyungs might not forgive me still hurt me. I decided not to make the decision. And my channel closed with Lee So-ra's "Amen" as the last video."
He added, "And Mr. Sung Si-kyung's, Ms. Taeyeon's own solo songs were all released, and Lee Sugeun, the boss, suddenly came to our house and handed me a withdrawal contract and told me to just stamp it. For a moment I was in the dark. So I said I would think about it and returned it. The next day, after much deliberation, we agreed on the condition of 'no mutual dirty publicity.' But now they say it's fine because of a three-wheeled bike or that the perfect number is three. If that's the case, they should have removed my voice from the fifth album. Isn't that common courtesy?" he said in anger.
He went on, "The reason I'm writing this is that the warm feelings of so many people, including my precious fans, who kindly remember and reminisce about me make me feel guilty. I want to make clear that this was not my choice. I hope people understand that I wanted to protect it until the end by any means. I'm sorry for causing concern during a bountiful holiday. But because there are things that must be addressed, I am clearly stating my position."
Earlier, in 2023 Brown Eyed Soul's agency Long Play Music said, "Brown Eyed Soul member Seonghun left the team as of March 8, 2023." The agency said, "The company and Seonghun mutually and amicably agreed to terminate the exclusive contract," and "Team members and all company executives and staff bless Seonghun's future as he leaves the team, wish him success, and express deep gratitude for his brilliant activities to date."
The full statement follows.
Hello. I hope you are having a peaceful Chuseok.
Yesterday I heard from my most precious fan that they couldn't do anything even at the concert, and I decided, albeit late, that I should humbly state my position.
First, I did not decide to leave. In 2022 I was waiting for Brown Eyed Soul's album recording. But Naul hyung's throat was bad, and since he didn't know when his voice would return, I just prayed and waited.
So because I couldn't just wait forever, I decided to release a second album, and in the meantime, seeing Naul hyung appearing on Hangout with Yoo I felt relieved. But one morning I woke up to find Naul hyung's voice had already returned, and I learned through the internet that Naul hyung's solo project had been planned.
I think I first revealed it on a podcast with Eco Bridge, but until the day before I had been praying for Naul hyung's voice to return, so this came as a huge shock to me.
Is this what they call a "trigger"? The sadness and anger I'd held in for 20 years began to explode. Still, what kept me going in that time was a channel called SUNG BY HOON. Even though the view counts weren't high, I was so happy. But the boss stopped me from doing YouTube anymore.
He even told me to kneel and beg Naul hyung if I wanted to keep going. Even now, the words that the hyungs might not forgive me still hurt me. I decided not to make the decision. And my channel closed with Lee So-ra's "Amen" as the last video.
And Mr.
Isn't that common courtesy?
The reason I'm writing this is that the warm feelings of so many people, including my precious fans, who kindly remember and reminisce about me make me feel guilty. I want to make clear that this was not my choice. I hope people understand that I wanted to protect it until the end by any means.
I'm sorry for causing concern during a bountiful holiday. But because there are things that must be addressed, I am clearly stating my position.
I wish you always good health and peace. To each and every precious fan, always be happy.<
