On Thursday the 9th, MBC's Save Me! Homes (directors: Jeong Dahi, Nam Yujeong, Heo Jayoon, Kim Seongnyeon / hereafter "Homes") will air the second installment of neighborhoods specialized by occupation, heading out to survey the Gangnam university hospital district.
This episode goes on location to Suseo and Irwon-dong, where university hospitals are located, as the second installment of neighborhoods specialized by occupation. Recently, "hospital districts"—areas where you can walk to a university hospital and that have medical infrastructure—have been gaining popularity. On "Homes," the show meticulously examines everything from houses near hospitals to various infrastructure during the location visit, meeting the diverse people who run around to save lives.
The "Gangnam hospital district" location visit features ENT physician-turned-author and original creator of the web novel The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, Lee Nak-jun, broadcaster Kangnam, and Joo Woo-jae together.
Before the full location visit, Lee Nak-jun, who appeared in the studio, introduced himself as the author, saying, "Hello. I'm Lee Nak-jun, who writes web novels under the pen name 'Hansaniga.'" He said he has not practiced ENT medicine for more than five years and now works 100% as a full-time writer. When asked to compare the earnings of the two professions, he said, "The revenue I earned as a writer is about three to four times the income I made as a doctor," which drew surprise.
Lee Nak-jun explained why an ENT doctor wrote a novel set in a trauma center, saying, "At a university hospital, the ENT department, unlike general hospitals, deals with many emergencies and performs many risky surgeries."
When Kangnam, who appeared with him, confessed to Lee Nak-jun, "I suffer from rhinitis every year. My jaw became longer because of rhinitis," he explained, "With rhinitis, the jaw can lengthen and the midface can lengthen too." He then told Joo Woo-jae, "Your face looks like someone with rhinitis. A characteristic is many dark circles because blood circulation is poor," drawing attention.
Park Na-rae introduced Kangnam, who appeared in the studio, saying that after marrying ice skating queen Lee Sang-hwa, he has been showing an unorthodox married life on his personal channel. Kangnam related an anecdote, saying, "Because Lee Sang-hwa is a former athlete, she can't act. When she's really angry, she's terrifying. We filmed episodes and she was so serious and angry that we shot about 12 episodes and couldn't air them." He added that Lee Sang-hwa's presence on his personal channel became huge, and at first they split the revenue, but at some point she started not taking it, saying it's for pocket money.
When asked about married life with an athlete, Kangnam said that living with an athlete means always exercising; it's helpful but you cough up blood(?) which drew surprise. He said, "Lee Sang-hwa still exercises even after retirement, so the muscles on her back are all over. When there is so much back muscle, a face shape shows on the back; there's still a face on her back," which provoked laughter. The second installment of neighborhoods specialized by occupation, the Gangnam university hospital district location visit, will be revealed Thursday the 9th at 10 p.m. on MBC's Save Me! Homes.
