SBS Plus will present its fourth "special live baseball broadcast," which will sweep away the aftereffects of October's golden holiday.
SBS Plus will exclusively air the special live broadcast "special live baseball broadcast—Fire Fighters vs. Dong-Eui Institute of Technology" at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19 (Sun). Beginning with the Inha University game in June, followed by the Dong-A University game in July and the Yeoncheon Miracle game in August, the "special live baseball" broadcasts that heated up viewers this summer with three live broadcasts will this time meet viewers with an October game that allows them to fully enjoy the charm of cool autumn baseball.
So far, the record from the three live broadcasts stands at 2 wins and 1 loss, vividly demonstrating the Fire Fighters' consistent skill and producing blockbuster ratings and viewer response. The first live broadcast game against Inha University reached a peak household rating of 1.5% (Nielsen Korea, paid households in the Seoul metropolitan area), and the highest number of viewers per minute nationwide was 306,000. The second live broadcast against Dong-A University also hit a peak household rating per minute of 1.5%, and although the third live broadcast against Yeoncheon Miracle ended in a narrow loss, it still recorded a peak household rating per minute of 1.4%, proving the absolute love of viewers.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, the opponent in the fourth live broadcast, is drawing fans' expectations and attention more than ever with its fateful first matchup against the Fire Fighters. The Dong-Eui Institute of Technology baseball team was the first team founded by a vocational college in the Busan area, and is led by manager Yeom Jong-seok, a key figure in the Lotte Giants' 1992 Korean Series championship. It finished first in Group D of the 2025 KUSF college baseball U-League and advanced to the champions' tournament, and in just five years since its founding has produced multiple professional players, firmly establishing itself as a collegiate baseball power. The team is packed with ambition and passion to the point of rising to the ranks of college baseball's strong teams in a short time, so there is intense interest in whether the Fire Fighters can add a valuable win against them.
