The band ONEWE overcomes the maze of adversity and reaches the stars.
ONEWE (Yonghun, Kanghyun, Harin, Dongmyeong, Kiuk) releases their fourth mini album "MAZE : AD ASTRA" today (7th) at 6 p.m. on various music streaming sites.
The title track "MAZE" conveys the message that the paths we wander in relationships may seem like a maze, but ultimately the process itself has meaning. It is a song that adds a horn & brass section so listeners can fully feel the sensibility of a fusion jazz band.
In particular, member Kiuk participated in the lyrics and composition, adding ONEWE's unique color. They expressed a theme that could have been portrayed darkly with ONEWE's bright and exciting arrangement, and amplified the song's twist appeal with dynamic bass and guitar solo lines.
The music video released along with the song captures ONEWE's UFO exploration. It is expected to add viewing enjoyment by wittily likening the pursuit of maze-like human relationships. ONEWE is expected to increase immersion by presenting the album's theme, "journey toward the stars," through a combination of kitschy imagination and stylish visuals.
In addition, MAZE : AD ASTRA includes "Lucky 12," a message of encouragement to endure painful times; "UFO," which sings of fated emotions that blossom like a UFO; "Hide & Seek," which melts a love that seems within reach but never quite is; "Trace," which expresses an organic consolidation of past and future; "You and me, and... (彫刻 : Diary)," an emotional track like reading a day's diary; and "Beyond the Storm," which pursues hope beyond the tempest.
MAZE : AD ASTRA is the new album ONEWE presents about seven months after their second full-length album WE : Dream Chaser, released in March. As with previous works, all members actively participated in lyrics, composition and arrangement for this album as well, solidifying the group's musical identity. Having shown a clear identity on each album, ONEWE cements its position as a band listeners can trust by unfolding fresh storytelling through MAZE : AD ASTRA.
