At the Idol Star Athletics Championships, an in-house feud at SM Entertainment unfolded as NCT Wish won the penalty shootout against senior boy group RIIZE.
In the second part of the 2025 Idol Star Athletics Championships (abbreviated ISA), which aired the afternoon of the 5th, the penalty shootout event was revealed first. In particular, the penalty shootout final featured a matchup between RIIZE and NCT Wish, both from SM Entertainment, drawing attention.
RIIZE Seongchan said "I'm glad to be competing against NCT Wish, who are from the same SM Entertainment," creating a warm atmosphere. NCT Wish Jaehee then joked, "RIIZE Eunseok hyung told me he wasn't in good condition and asked us to take it easy," and Eunseok retorted, "I never said that. I'll play as usual and win," provoking both laughter and tension.
In the following match, a psychological battle that evoked a 'family quarrel' unfolded, producing a sense of familiarity. NCT Wish Sakuya opened the goal and gestured, engaging in psychological tactics to provoke RIIZE Sohee. However, Sohee calmly placed the ball into the empty space, prompting laughter. Eunseok also performed a move leaving the goal undefended but soon returned to guard it, and Jaehee scored, causing laughter. Meanwhile, Seongchan attempted a psychological tactic by indicating he would kick to the right. However, the shot went strong and straight, adding a twist.
Meanwhile, Sohee failed to score as Sakuya made a save. The outcome rested on NCT Wish's final kicker, Yuushi. Yuushi scored without error, delivering the victory to NCT Wish.
Even so, RIIZE members Wonbin, Anton, and Shotaro jumped up from the cheering section to console their members. NCT Wish celebrated the victory by performing synchronized choreography to their signature song "surf." <
