The MBC Chuseok special variety program 'What are you doing, hyungnim?' airing on Oct. 7 (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Lee Joo-won, An Ji-seon, Bang Seong-su/writer No Min-seon) is a spinoff of 'Hangout with Yoo' and depicts a freewheeling 1-night, 2-day road trip of three men who just don't get along: Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Lee Yi-kyung. Episode 1 shows the three men beginning their trip in Jinan, North Jeolla Province.
During this trip, the three men who spend a night together open up honestly and grow closer. The tie that binds them, 'Hangout with Yoo' (hereafter 'Hangout'), is also part of the conversation. The three men unite as they reveal their affection for the program and discuss the recent atmosphere of 'Hangout,' which has been receiving strong ratings and public interest.
Among them, Joo Woo-jae opens up about concerns regarding the role he played on 'Hangout,' saying frankly, "It was frustrating because things didn't go my way." Haha, the only person to join as a regular after the end of 'Infinite Challenge,' continues an honest talk, saying, "It took me a long time to feel ownership of 'Hangout,'" which raises curiosity about what they discussed. Joo Woo-jae also says, "When I first met Yi-kyung, I thought there was nothing we had in common. But he slowly grew on me," revealing for the first time something he had been too embarrassed to say. Attention is focused on the deep conversation among the three men.
Especially moved by the mood, Joo Woo-jae says, "This is something that may or may not happen once a year, and today is that day," and appears to completely let himself go in front of Haha and Lee Yi-kyung.
