The agency said, "We were told that Seonghun experienced psychological difficulties and an unstable condition during the COVID-19 period and amid a member's health issues as activities were on hiatus for a long time, and he received professional counseling and treatment concurrently. In that process, inappropriate words and actions continued, including sending personally attacking messages to other members and their families, so the company expressed concern and repeatedly recommended treatment and rest."
It added, "Nevertheless, the company respected Seonghun's will to pursue music and, to help his recovery, actively supported personal activities such as producing a solo album and filming YouTube content and did its best. However, after a year had passed and the situation had not changed, we judged that it was no longer sustainable, and after consultation with Seonghun, we made the final decision to terminate the exclusive contract and for him to leave the team."
Explaining why it issued a statement now, the agency said, "We originally decided not to respond to the media or issue further statements on this matter, but we ask for your understanding that we were forced to make an official statement because false information has spread and unnecessary misunderstandings have grown."
