First, with the reveal of the first-round mission, makeups by participants from various fields were unveiled. The judges' delicate and sharp critiques further deepened immersion and raised the buzz around 'Just Makeup.'
Participants who used to be shop owners in Cheongdam-dong drew attention with details condensed from long-held know-how. 'Son Tail' expressed even the tiniest touches with completeness and received high praise from the judges, and 'New York Master' showed a global sensibility with delicate brush control.
Beauty creators dominated the stage with makeup that reflected their own worldviews. 'Mactist' captured attention by creating a texture as if water had splashed with a straw, and 'Glitter Magician' showed the height of glamour with Chungha rollercoaster glitter makeup. 'Ssin-nim' demonstrated originality with the seasoned skill of a first-generation beautuber and asserted presence.
Participants in the theatrical makeup and drag fields overwhelmed the stage with performances beyond makeup. '1st generation Myeongseongwanghu' showed ingenuity by completing a highly polished look even after missing liquid eyeliner, and drag artists drew judges' admiration with bold expressions using color and structure.
Judges Jung Saem-mul, Seo Ok, Lee Sa-bae and Lee Jin-soo evaluated participants' works with their respective expertise and perspectives. They viewed not only technical completion but also creativity, emotional lines and harmony with the model from multiple angles, conveying the depth of makeup to viewers. In particular, Jung Saem-mul added emotion by pinpointing a participant's sincerity with the comment "emotion was felt before technique."
