(Continuing from interview ②) Actor Hwang Seong-bin recalled joining the Netflix series Aema and the moment he received Ihnahee's thoughtful consideration on set.
Recently at the OSEN office in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, Hwang Seong-bin shared behind-the-scenes details of the Aema audition.
He recalled, "I joined the project through an audition. I was notified in advance that there would be nudity when I auditioned. After a final meeting with the director, I was contacted that day, and I read the script and immediately sat down and read the whole thing and said, 'I'll do it.' The script's power was that strong."
He continued, "Even though the script showed nudity, I thought, 'So what. It's not like I'm going to be completely naked,' and I took it on. But I was actually completely naked. Probably because I had no filming experience. There seemed to be a variable different from what I had imagined. When I read it, I wasn't focusing on the nude scenes but on the story. So I agreed without worrying about it," he said, drawing laughter.
Still, Hwang Seong-bin recalled, "During filming, there were many scenes where I was exposed, so I felt embarrassed and shy, but I thought that I had to do my best to be recognized as an actor. At that time I think I did it without much thought."
The most reassuring presence on set was Ihnahee. Hwang Seong-bin said, "Ihnahee was very considerate. Before the staff came, she would keep talking to me and tell them to take care of me. She always asked if I was okay. She always checked on me, a rookie actor."
In particular, he said, "I was shooting a scene where I was tied to the ceiling, and after hanging for a long time I got a cramp. I was making a sound, but my mouth was gagged. I couldn't shout, so I shook my head to show I was in pain, and while acting the senior said, 'You have to get him down right now! He has a cramp!' and shouted. While they were untying the rope she worried about me. She was very warm. I was so grateful," he recalled, drawing attention.
