Group SEVENTEEN special unit S.Coups x Mingyu summoned the hype moments packed into their first mini album into reality.
S.Coups x Mingyu held a fan party, VIBE ALIVE: Chill Moments, on the 5th at the main auditorium of Seoul Women's University in Nowon District, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their first mini album HYPE VIBES, igniting enthusiasm for the new record. Under the theme that the album's hot and free atmosphere comes to life in reality, the event was filled with live performances and talk segments.
From the start, S.Coups and Mingyu's uninhibited charms filled the venue. They sang the title track 5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz) while moving through the audience. Each time the two exchanged high-fives with fans, ecstatic cheers erupted throughout the venue.
In the following talk segment, Seungkwan made a surprise appearance as a special MC and showed strong loyalty. He said, "I could feel the traces of the two's hard work on HYPE VIBES. Even I, after more than a decade together, was proud that the album was completed with music and quality that would surprise me, and I wanted to help somehow, so I volunteered to host the fan party."
Having led the overall production of the mini album, S.Coups x Mingyu honestly shared behind-the-scenes work that had not been revealed anywhere else. They said, "We couldn't let go of our ambition for the new record. Even if we ended up regretting it, we wanted to trust ourselves and follow our choices," and reflected, "Every moment of making the album was rich and varied."
Other segments included CARAT POLL, predicting popular songs by situation chosen by CARATs; CARAT INSIDE, learning fans' true feelings; and ASK & ANSWER, answering questions submitted on-site, all of which brought joy with a news concept.
At the end of the fan party, live stages for HYPE VIBES tracks For you and Fiesta were revealed for the first time. The two members went down into the audience to get closer to fans, and the crowd responded with mass singing and standing ovations, bringing the atmosphere to a peak. S.Coups x Mingyu said, "Our activities are not over yet. Please enjoy the various content that will come out in the future," and received cheers.
S.Coups x Mingyu have continued their streak of success at home and abroad since releasing HYPE VIBES on the 29th of last month. The album went straight to No. 1 on Hanteo Chart's daily album chart on the day of release, and on its fourth day it already broke the record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop unit album. It also topped Japan's Oricon daily album ranking and the daily and weekly charts in the EP category of China's largest music platform's digital bestseller album chart.
SEVENTEEN's activities will continue. They will begin SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR [NEW_] IN U.S. on the 11th (local time) at Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, then perform at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on the 16th–17th, Moody Center in Austin on the 21st–22nd, FLA Live Arena in Sunrise on the 26th–27th, and Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., on the 29th–30th.
