A new witness who knows about Lee Young-ae and Kim Young-kwang's partnership has emerged, turning living rooms upside down.
In episode 6 of the KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice (directed by Song Hyun-wook, written by Jeon Young-shin), which aired on the 5th, Kang Eun-soo (played by Lee Young-ae) and Lee Kyung (played by Kim Young-kwang) faced an extreme crisis after being attacked by Phantom members Dong-hyun (played by Lee Gyu-seong) and Joon-hyun (played by Son Bo-seung).
In yesterday's broadcast, Eun-soo and Lee Kyung, who were bound by the Dong-hyun and Joon-hyun brothers, were pushed to the edge after even the medicine they had hidden under the blanket was discovered. Lee Kyung resisted to the end despite being stabbed and covered in blood, and Eun-soo, who confirmed Dong-hyun's face through the torn mask, was horrified. Overcome with shock, Eun-soo begged to be spared, but Dong-hyun pressed harder, demanding that they hand over all the drugs and money. The two who barely survived death's door locked the unconscious Dong-hyun and Joon-hyun in a supermarket storeroom. Lee Kyung tried to persuade Eun-soo that they would have to kill the two in order to survive. Facing a situation where everything had to be finished before morning, Eun-soo left, saying she would take the alone Sua to the big house and return. Lee Kyung moved to the car outside the storeroom to take a call from Hwi-rim, and at that moment Joon-hyun regained consciousness and fled with Dong-hyun.
When Joon-hyun arrived at a nearby phone booth and was asking Phantom boss Gyu-man (played by Won Hyun-jun) for help, a car that had been chasing them crashed into the phone booth, causing a gruesome accident. As a result, Dong-hyun died and Joon-hyun fell into an unconscious state. Eun-soo, who heard the tragic news from Lee Kyung, was gripped by guilt and wept uncontrollably, and in this scene Lee Young-ae delivered explosive emotional acting and a breath-taking performance that sent chills through viewers' living rooms.
An autopsy found a new drug component linked to Phantom in Dong-hyun's blood, and the case was handed over to the narcotics investigation team led by Tae-gu (played by Park Yong-woo). While searching Dong-hyun and Joon-hyun's house, Tae-gu found a highlighter identical to the one in the highlighter box that had been abandoned in front of Eun-soo's house earlier. Sensing a connection to Eun-soo, Tae-gu tightened the investigation with a predatory smile.
Meanwhile, Eun-soo and Lee Kyung secretly left Dong-hyun's cellphone at Gyu-man's shop to pin the hit-and-run on the Phantom boss, and the police identified Gyu-man as the suspect. At the same time, it was revealed that there was another true culprit who drove Dong-hyun and Joon-hyun to their deaths, delivering a twist.
Unable to escape her guilt, Eun-soo decided to break the cycle of tragedy that started with the drug bag by burning both the money earned from selling drugs and the remaining drugs, freeing herself from the whirlpool that had bound her. At the same time, Lee Kyung handed the remaining drugs to the addicted Hwi-rim, pushing him to the brink. Another witness who had watched the two move the unconscious Dong-hyun and Joon-hyun then appeared, sending the pair's future toward an even more unpredictable catastrophe.
