Jeong Il-woo realized his feelings for Jeong In-seon, opening the curtain on a full-fledged love triangle.
Episode 17 of KBS 2TV weekend drama Our Golden Days (directed by Kim Hyeong-seok / written by So Hyun-kyung / produced by Studio Coming Soon, Studio Bom, Monster Union), which aired at 8 p.m. on the 4th, showed Lee Ji-hyeok (played by Jeong Il-woo) formalizing a business partnership with Ji Eun-o (played by Jeong In-seon) while feeling shaken and confused as he kept noticing himself being drawn to her.
In that episode, Eun-o underwent a health checkup without noticing Goh Seung-hee (played by Lee Tae-ran)'s scheming at all. At the same time, Ji-hyeok moved his own belongings to relocate the office. Returning after her checkup, Eun-o belatedly learned that Ji-hyeok had moved his office and felt quietly hurt.
Lee Sang-chul (played by Cheon Ho-jin) took a step toward reemployment after passing a written exam following long preparation. But thinking of his son Ji-hyeok left him with complicated feelings, and he could not feel wholly happy. Sang-chul, who came home drunk, again argued with Ji-hyeok over past marriage issues, and they had difficulty narrowing their rift.
Meanwhile, Lee Ji-wan (played by Son Sang-yeon) and Park Young-ra (played by Park Jung-yeon) snuck off to a comic cafe to get webtoon ideas, avoiding Seong-hee's watchful eye. Young-ra, excited by her first cup ramen, enjoyed free time with Ji-wan. Meanwhile, Lee Soo-bin (played by Shin Soo-hyun), who landed a job that matched her ideal conditions through a marriage information agency with Seong-jae's help, went on a date as planned.
Kim Da-jeong (played by Kim Hee-jung), who was returning home after a restaurant serving interview, ran into Jo Ok-rye (played by Ban Hyo-jung) leaving her part-time job. When Ok-rye confessed she had been secretly working, Da-jeong understood her feelings and quietly stayed by her side.
Worried about Eun-o's safety returning home late at night, Ji-hyeok gave her a self-defense item. As Eun-o was taken aback by the unexpected gift, Park Seong-jae (played by Yoon Hyun-min), who saw the scene and understood the situation, offered to drive her home for her safety. When Eun-o accepted Seong-jae's firm offer, Ji-hyeok was again consumed by jealousy.
Later, Eun-o, inspired by a latch Ji-hyeok had installed at the cafe, finalized a contract for a standalone hanok dwelling. Overcome with joy, Eun-o told Ji-hyeok the news, and seeing her bright smile made him realize he liked her. While the two visited the site together, a rotten rafter fell toward Ji-hyeok's head, and Eun-o threw herself to save him. Ji-hyeok offered to take responsibility for Eun-o's commute to and from work instead, but he was confused by the jealousy he felt.
Near the end of the broadcast, Cha Cheol-min (played by Jo Han-joon), who had noticed Ji-hyeok's feelings, hinted at Ji-hyeok's affection for Eun-o, and Ji-hyeok instinctively hid when Eun-o entered the cafe. The rapid beating of his heart made Ji-hyeok finally certain of his feelings for Eun-o, signaling the start of a full-fledged romance to come.
Viewers who watched the broadcast reacted strongly, saying, "Seeing Sang-chul pass on his first try, he must have really worked hard even though it's not his major," "When will Sang-chul and Ji-hyeok reconcile? I wish they would be a little more honest," "Poor Young-ra, it's her first time at a comic cafe and even cup ramen, but it's cute how she enjoys a little rebellion," "Jeong In-seon keeps getting prettier," "Ji-hyeok definitely likes Eun-o 100 percent. Does that mean a love triangle with Seong-jae?" and "Seong-jae, you're going to lose Eun-o at this rate."
